Thinking on how to get silverwood, today i've seen a direwolf video where it says that the "legit" method (not reward bags) to get them is trading with a pech. Then I remember that here it needs 3000 island level and/or (not sure about it) 1500 MyMs to unlock, that is a ton if we consider that half of the branch of "Yer A Wizard Steve!" need aura nodes (silverwood) to go on. Well, can you make it cheaper or MAYBE a free one with like 50/100/200 MyMs per chunk to claim? I would also rember that on a singleplayer world you can easily find it (it's not so rare as far as i've seen), so I can't think of why we need higher requirements even of the end biome to get it.
Thanks for the suggestion, with the next restart it should have the following values, if not let me know: island level: 500 unlock price: 250 change price: 80
I use another way that is my be much more effective and also the right way. All mobs drop aspect orbs when killed, villagers drop all orbs except for ignis. If you setup a system to make villagers filling ur wand will be super easy. It's also so that in the quests after the alchemy quest in Yer a wizard Steve's thaumcraft part you will be awarded with silverwood and great wood sapling Sent using Tapatalk on IPhone
direnoob didnt read into exaliquo. u dont need nodes at all. u'll get greatwood AND silverwood with normals means explained in ur questbook. if find 500 a little bit to low. if u start placing down blocks of ores u'll be there after 1-2 days of playing. saw an island yesterday 4 levels of stonebricks ~50x50 alreaday give u an itemlevel of nearly 400. place down 20 blocks of ore and u are set to 500... 3000 is maybe too high bit 500 is way to low. i would go in the middle
because noone did go through the trouble of placing down ores. on ag1 after a week of playing we did empty our ae system and placed down all the blocks we could make out of vanilla blocks. redstone, lapis, iron, gold, emerald, gold, created some becons and so on and we went to 2,5k. its really not that hard if u try to improve the itemlevel specifically. the number 1 yesterday got 200 with only stonebricks...
By me the point is: if in SSP I can get to there just exploring, why should I pay that much/get that island level for something that was meant to be free? As far as I can see, Slind found a great way between "fairly too easy" and "how the heck am I supposed to get there" levels. Also notice that some people want to just make quests or build farms, without the needing to raise the island level or anything else that is plugin based (for example, I've done 2 of the island quest of the first row when I could manage to get the needed farms and more just because I don't feel that is a "must do thing").
the whole point of skyblock modpacks is to make it a LOT harder . nothing is meant to be easy here. without these plugins u had to search ur sky for the right biome. we are already making it way easier then it is supposed to be.
In the original Map there were biomes scattered around. Most biomes such as magical Forrest was already around the skyblock. One magical Forrest was acually just around 30 blocks from the island for direwolf. so magical Forrest was easy to get, just not too easy. Now that you need to get island level is cool and all it should not be overdone. I understand that biomes such as the Sky biome should be super expensive biomes such as magical Forrest should not be too expensive as the map was made to be focused around the actual map rather then plugins. I think the price that is right now is good since you won't need to be rich to get a pech or start a basic mana bean farm. Sent using Tapatalk on IPhone
u know pechs are actually disabled on the agrarian sky modpack by jadedcat? because ull get wands and everything so easy. direnoob did disable that because he didnt want to go through the trouble of making it himself. the only thing ull get from a magical forst is wisps. pech are disabled on all other servers as well because u can dupe with them pretty easy.
I thought I remembered that from somewhere, I changed one of my chunks to magic forest, but more for growing beans
Is that so, I guess it would make sense. :/ buy I still don't think a raise in the cost for magical Forrest should change. After all it does only give a small advantage. Being able to spawn wisp's and grow mana beans should not cost extremely much. Sent using Tapatalk on IPhone
I really don't see why people make a fuss about it. You get your saplings so easily from quests, random quest reward bags and they even aren't hard to transmute. After you have your saplings, place them down, make a thaumium grafter and you have a ton of saplings. After that grow them instatly using thaumcraft super tools, let the silverwood trees stay and after a few days you have your magical biome spread. Remove the tree, set it nearby and so on, after a while you got a whole chunk for FREE! Getting the whole thaumcraft quest chain done to the silverwood saplings took me less than a day with trying to spawn pechs, angry zombies etc and being flooded by whisps. The massive price we had was just fine imo for the lazy end game players who don't want to mess around with silverwood growing and waiting.
