Its not like this isn't an issue on the other servers, where passive animals, villagers, and even named entities will despawn sometimes. but on Civ its going to be a real problem when our towns and cities are filled with ghosts. The plugin controlling mob rates is probably our culprit and last night my small viking village was struck by it. Around my population of 10 npc's all despawned over night while I slept. I don't know what to suggest, but removing the plugin would be my idea. These mod authors planned on Minecraft's normal spawn rates to be in affect, not a plugin controlling them.

If we were to remove the limit it would cause the tps to drop due to the increased mob rate, and then we will start seeing posts about low tps on Civ.

If the limit is reached, why does the plugin choose to delete passive mobs? I confess I don't know much about it, but my understanding is its flawed. Maybe finding a better plugin would help, or fixing the one we have to where it always chooses to despawn hostile mobs instead. Or make it so it will despawn anything as long as its not one of the npc's we need.

I did investigate the disappearance of LordFungi's wife. It is hard to play with the Minecraft Comes Alive mod when your family disappears and you can't even divorce the spouse because they are completely despawned. :(

Heres a side by side comparison of what happens to our npc's over time. About 18 hours has gone into this. A total of 11 npc's were placed in a room together. Now theres only 5. None had been moved. Only three guards on free roam. 2016-01-04_23.21.43. 2016-01-05_17.48.35.

    Should i disabled MCA then?

Have you tried to stay in a village with them? They may need a place to live to not despawn.
Also try Placing a Magnum torch and a Passive Torch.
These two torches will make nothing else spawn around you.
    See if this helps.

Hi, disabling MCA would be an option thats 6th to 2nd on the list because the amont of data use in this mod is quantum amounts when players start up a city or a pratical nation and think about how many players get on a day and how many are in MYM's recorded data banks, ex: those that join and stay for a short time. I also want to make an opinion of the mod that the first time i layed eyes on it, to me it looked like a mod for singleplay and at the same time wierd when your spawning a bunch of NPC that taken the form of a human and the fact you can marry them. Its much like your replacing the fellow players around you with some form of manakin. Minecraft should be played with other players and not inaminate objects that have no feeling and as for the players that use them for deffence purposes, why not try a different mod that does the same actions to that of an iron golem?

PS, is there a tutorial? I cant find how to mine pass the stone level. (Im still learning this mod PACK but i know a major majority of the mods)

Make a flint pick from TiCon and level it. OR use a mob head on it.
Or you can use Silent Gems.

    Tinkers construct:
1.Flint pickaxe, mine stone until level up.
    2.Mine copper
3.Make a Smeltery and make a Copper pickaxe
4.Level it up until you can mine Iron.
5.Repeat step 3 but instead make a Iron Pickaxe.
    6.Level it up until Osmium...

From then on you can mine almost everything.[DOUBLEPOST=1452098250][/DOUBLEPOST]
I really really dont mind about MCA. If the npc de-spawn after a while there's really no point of having it. Maybe I'm alone with this feeling but I believe there's a lot of mods that can improve exploring or combat instead of MCA.

I do think removing MCA is an idea, but it would remove some immersion from players who are trying to make their cities feel alive. MCA npc's can be made to work, and some have special abilities you would love. For instance, the mason's when put to work on mining can be givin the option to detect a specific vanilla or mca ore thats around you if their following, from coal to diamonds. There's also ones that will hunt for animals, or farm for you.

I did notice that the first time i played, it also shows the amount of data used in it

Ps, does this modpack have PVP or the same pvp aspect as other servers (/pvp toggle)

PVP is enabled all the time, you cant toggle it out. People cant kill you inside a claim or on the World Spawn.

Ok, i have done a lot of testing with this.
I have found the Minecraft Comes Alive NPC will despawn if you log out and they are not loaded.

You can stop them from despawning if you keep their chunk loaded when you log out.
Alternatively you can use a Lasso and collect them all before logging out.

I also found that there seems to be a limit of 9 MCA npc in and around a chunk.[DOUBLEPOST=1452108307][/DOUBLEPOST]
Make sure to right click them and set their home. Also they need to be loaded when you log out.
