when you are doing a bounty claims should not affect you. i want to be able to go onto the persons claim and be able to do the bounty in there as this makes more sense people spend most of there time in there base whitch makes bountys much harder then they should be

You cant kill in claims... there is only a few things that bypass that.

Lets see what i can do.
I have been thinking about this for the past few days... since there is a split between pvp/no pvp.

Also with the growing interest in Anarchy/Factions again.

why do u say that some people may want to play with the standard rules(what we have at the moment) and the other as a sort of hardcore where people can kill in claims and basicly have a faction type system

Not everyone likes PVP because they prefer to play and enjoy than it turn into a COD style manhunt

Well I really dont care about a second PVE server. I do think that it's a silly idea, but i wont be playing there anyways.

I'm all for disabling every protection there is. All BUT buildings.

    This is the reason why:

I'm one of those guys who loves minecraft for its survival aspects. I like to build small castles/factories that are safe not because the server is in peacefull, but because the defensive features in the base are keeping the threat away. I like to roam around the map knowing that if someones tries to engage me in combat, they will have to fight for it. Civilization does that, and does it a lot with each passing "update" in it's rules.

Grave robbing? hell yeah now people will learn how to not carry important items on them if they're not prepare to defend them. Bounty? All right! now people will mark important targets and being a Bounty Hunter will have a meaning. THIS is the next logical step. Now, defensive bases will have a meaning.

In an Idyllic world people who dont like PVP will join up or stay close to Feudal Lord who will pledge to protect them in exchange of food (Spice of Life ftw) or Manyal Labor (Lacking of Quarries and Automatization FTW)... I know that wont happen but it's fun to dream...

Sometimes I log into the server and see certain player who are a Raging vampire/thingy and some Feared Bounty Hunter be sitting there, chained to the silly rules against pvp... and people instead of arming themselves and hunting them, trying to enforce the rules without any proper knowledge of it.

The Civ server has so much potential to be a great and fun experiment, different from any other modpack that i've seen where the difficult is not in the BS recipes, it's on survival and diplomacy... I'm giving too much credit to the pack? maybe.

Now, I do have a small request... maybe I will get downvoted to oblivion but here it comes.

    Disable Flan's mod.

Minecraft dont have a brillian PVP system. The whack and run dont work with OP ranged weaponary, specially if exist a bs Sniper rifle that will oneshot you if you dont have and stupid amount of health. I know it's a fun mod (kind of glitchy but fun), but I'm always kind of hectic on using wapons or items that are one-shot one-kil kind of a deal.

I would love to see that rifle get a serious nerf or to make the recipe for the ammo A LOT more difficult.

    :D

Flan's weapons are weak compared to other weapons in the pack.

But i agree. If there is a second server(not saying that there will be) I think that the server that will need to be PvP. The first server will become the PvE server, since there are already rules in place to stop some of the PvP.

Right now i am busing learning how to do thing with Git...ect. Once i figure this all out, i will sit down and come up with a plan.

And the rapier? and curses? and every other mods x weapons?

Then we will be playing vanilla.

I dont see the point of allowing killing in claims, what if the person lives underground?
Also this would make it so i need to disable the donator commands that let them pass through blocks.

Best option, just wait a bit. If Civilization keeps growing, there may be another server in the future.
That one may have only Grief Prevention but killing even in claims and everywhere else....
    Give it time.

I need to brainstorm it. Also its not even a certain thing.
What i was thinking is. Greif Prevention or factions.

Really not sure. It will be a few weeks away... if even a thing.
Civilization is popular but we have not reached the server cap yet.

Im surprised people want pvp in claims and/or anarchy and raiding.

I would absolutely HATE killing in claims. I play on Civ as a civilian support person. I stick around the base as a general rule. Some one set a bounty on me, and suddenly I'm not safe in the one place I thought I was? That would not be fun. Especially if none of my base mates are on to get rid of whoever decided to be a pest/jerk/stalker/creep.
