Im thinking something along the lines of this with some major config editing. Gonna test the mod compatibilities.
I watched a few spotlights on that. Think i would prefer Factions over that. Greif revert, No pvp block, Healing block... all can make raiding pointless. Not sure how well it would work on a full pvp server.
This would allow people to have a "safe area" all the time. Lets say two players team up. They store all their valuables in Player 1 protected area, that is always set to not allow broken blocks. Then they "work" in player 2s area. I can see this making PvP and raiding pointless.
I chose anarchy because there are mods that can protect your stuff, the only thing I'd consider adding is a protection plugin for new people for about a week or two so that they can make their setup in peace
The only issue would be getting enough players. So far there have only been 10 votes for anarchy. If you can convince more players to come vote for it, I think it'll be doable.[DOUBLEPOST=1452362200,1452349319][/DOUBLEPOST]Threw together a pack with this modlist I'm thinking if the pack has EE3 but is anarchy it'll be really easy to rebuild if your base gets raided.
I don't think that EE3 is good idea. With EE3 you can get infinite resources very quickly. You said that FPS won't be problem. I think that 81 mods can cause FPS problems and put players with weak computers into disadvantage. I recommend to test the modpack with computer as bad as mine or even worse to see if there aren't any FPS issues. I have HP probook 6360b and I uploaded specs here.
Thats a bad PvP mod pack list. Everyone will be forced into Kami armor or Blood armor. Whats the point of PvP if you cant kill each other.
It's about finding ways to kill each other. You can always kill one another, regardless of what armor. It's decently similar to the crackpack modlist which worked out just fine.
Kami and Bound armor are close to god armor. NOT good for pvp. Its part of the reason both mods are not in Civilization.
Certain witchery mechanics and some weapons. If you had played on crackpack you would know that nothing is invincible
Bound armor is easy, and @MaelstromPhoenix can confirm that it's rediculously easy to kill kami aswell, also, Mael, EM tools without IC2, how? also, Krhy, the little rapier of the styx from FM will lock your LP pool to gain no blood, the MAIN armor i'd see people using would be vampire, werewolf, and/or thaumium fortress or some variant therefore (the thing is a BEAST, at least before the nerf, after it's still pretty good, there's also the addons variants which put thaumium fortress off the map as a weak armor, no joke)
If you have griefing or raiding, you probably want players to be able to get good equip within a few hours and be able to fight others with maxed amours and enchants. I wouldn't have fun needing to rebuild over multiple days before I can take on anyone and can be taken out like nothing during this time.
That's why I threw EE3 in there. It might not be the fastest thing to rebuild lots of infrastructure but the tech stuff can easily be rebuilt and the magic stuff is high reward for a high risk. I plan on adding EMC values to lots of items like enderium and such so that it is really easy to rebuild.
Mael would disagree, have you heard of how fast the my team vs his team fights got to endgame, and every time we got raided how FAST we setup (we lived in multiple dimensions, almost were never raided, hard to find too)
And this is the problem. I think the best approach to a faction/raiding server would be a vanilla server. With Plug ins to make it fun. -McMMO -Special armor/drops -Unique item -Economy -Factions
Yhea, those 5 generally make a good factions server, to be quite honest, i've played hundreds of hours in less than a week on some of those types
