Hello Guys, I just tried automating the blood altar from Bloodmagic. I want to put items like cleanstone in the altar automatically, and i tried this with hoppers, itemducts, pipes and stuff, but it puts always all items into the altar instead of one which prevents the creation of the slates. I think the only way to accomplish this is using a Turtle from Computercraft and let it check weather an item is in the altar and if not, it will put a piece of stone in. The finished slate will be extracted via fluiducts, wich works perfectly. I dont think it`s necessary to ban the normal turtles without any tools on it, because i dont think you can grief with it. So please unban the normal turtle in the overworld MfG mori111
As far as I'm aware, they ignore all GP perms and rules so with that in mind someone could put it down, tell it to move to a chest, take the inventory and return to starting position. Would be bad. Its's unfortunate, as I LOVE turtles.
this wouldn't work either as their data for meta is all the same the only diffrence is the nbt and that's a pain in the *** to find
yes but AAs can't do EVERYTHING a turtle can do which is why turtles are useful (plus they are easy to automate)
That depends on your definition of easy. And for every action a turtle can do there is a machine, or setup, that can do it equally as well.
If that's all it takes then ProjectRed should be able to help quite a bit[DOUBLEPOST=1401319642,1401319421][/DOUBLEPOST] Now just for kicks, I'm relatively sure that the Uberminer is impossible regardless of the turtle situation seeing as how the force manipulator is banned (and for good reason)
I can appreciate both sides of the argument, I too love turtles and really wish we could allow them, but as has already been mentioned, they would be very easy to use to bypass claim protection, even without blockbreaking ability, assuming they have an open path to a chest with something valuable in it. As of the next version of CC, you'll be able place down a basic turtle, put a diamond pick in its inventory and then do turtle.equip() and it will instantly become a mining turtle, which makes the problem even worse for us, as at that point, selectively banning the mining turtle while trying to allow other turtles would be redundant! I could be wrong, as the settings may have changed, but I know on the last monster servers we had the force manipulator only banned in the worlds with claiming enabled, the mining world (the one that we allow turtles and mining-lasers in but which doesn't have claims) should have them still enabled, so uberminer setups like this one should still be possible View attachment 318
