Implemented Banning of PortaSpawners

    I just want to say I hope this is a temp. thing because I rely on them for my iron farms ect. If someone was abusing them and causing server issues they need to be banned plain and simple especially if its a repeat offender. I wasted allot of resources making my portaspawners that are now sitting useless in my ME system.

    The PortaSpawner has the same banned reason as the diamond dollay and the disabled spawner pickup from the bedrock pickaxe. We don't want that players pickup spawners because many players pickup too many and we can not really control this.

    If someone needs to spawn mobs then use the auto spawner.

    I can exchange the PortaSpawner for you if you want?

    Hmmn, the problem is that in order to make an auto-spawner work you NEED to first kill other mobs using a grinder to produce the mob essence the auto-spawner requires..

    Without any way (other than late-game thaumcraft) to move vanilla spawners the only viable way to do that is with an animal farm of some kind since otherwise there is no way to produce enough mob essence.

    I thought when we banned the diamond dolly on the last version we specifically decided to leave the portaspawner unbanned since it required 1 nether star (which admittedly isnt worth that much any more thanks to certain people lol) and 2x enderium ingots.. and the portaspawner is single use, being consumed when you place the spawner back down.

    yw for destroying the star price xD and it is NOT lategame thaumcraft to get the focus you need. you just need lategame to get the spawners with a specific wand

    There are other ways of generating essence (and a lot of it) without any type of mob. It's not as much place-and-go as the vanilla spawner + grinder set up but it is still very viable.

    cursed earth? really? but thats so hard to get with the 3 withers a day limit

    No, not cursed earth. Why does the limit have anything to do with cursed earth or normal mob spawns?

    it's how you get the mobs to spawn unless you have a lot of time to make a mob trap

    Yeah I know what it is, but again why does cursed earth have anything to do with your wither limit? And mob traps are very easy to make with some cobble gen, I think DW proved that in his Agrarian series

    You only get cursed earth when you do the division sigil activation ritual which requires an inactive sigil that you get either from dungeon loot chests or from killing a wither... though you only need 1 sigil to do the ritual and only one piece of cursed earth to breed in a dark room with a floor of dirt so his argument is invalid!

    not TOO many people were spawning withers... until me and sunun started selling skulls

    You're right, its just the few of you. Chaos's point still stands: you can turn one piece of cursed earth into as much of it as you want.

    Yea, also my housemate has 6 division sigils from dungeon chests, so they're easy enough to get without having to kill a wither if you know where to look!

    true but getting it is work and having silk touch is (somewhat) hard then LIVING long enough to get through it is hard which is why it's hard to get cursed earth

    This game is not supposed to be made easier and easier, you should always have to work for what you want otherwise what is the point of playing? The argument that getting cursed earth is too difficult to be a realistic alternative to spawners is nonsense because it's far easier than surviving a wither and creating enderium for the porta-spawner.

    i know but getting the porta spawners is (somewhat) hard too and there's a delay with them AND they aren't infinite use

    Well in that regard cursed earth is better than a porta-spawner as there's no delay in spawning (you can spawn a greater quantity with CE than a spawner) and they are infinite use.

    I'll just say this, if they get out of hand then the controllers will get banned for everyone. Keep it at a reasonable level, I really don't want to lose mine.

    oh they aren't THAT good.... it's only how we produce all our iron really... it's helped us make 100K iron... from a tower golem...
