Decided Against Civilization - Disable /fly

Currently, the only ways to fly on the Civilisation server prior to late-game sections of the pack is by either giving up a chestplate for a jetpack, which is a relatively poor form of flight, or hatching a dragon egg, which apparently crashes us. In fact, there are no possible methods of "free" flight except awakened ichorium armour, which is one of the latest sets in the game. Why is it, then, that donors have access to the /fly command right from the start of the game, granting unlimited creative flight before even getting iron?

 

But they are donators most of their perks have been disabled as it is

 

U disabled it ?

 

I believe @Krhymez re-enabled it some time ago, after an uproar from the donators about all their perks being removed on Civ.

It just feels a bit overpowered to have creative flight as a donor command when the only other way to get flight like that is through completing the entire Thaumcraft research tree, killing potentially thousands of endermen and zombie pigmen then completing multiple dangerous infusions.

You can donate and get /fly. And why ar non donators complaning about a perk we donaters pay'd for? Its not braking your gameplay in any way.

 

Before you respond by saving why are you complaining, we donators donated for it. I would like to preface my post with I am a donator, not a T4 donator, but nonetheless a donator. I had no issues with multiple of my perks being removed in order to balance gameplay. You need to remember the fact this is PvP, not your skyblock. The /fly command gives an insane advantage to the donor in PvP because they can fly away and launch strikes from the air? Fair I think not. I heard rumours of some sort of unable to pvp in fly mode, but I have yet to see it. So yes, it can break gameplay. Im pretty sure being able to pvp and fly away with out any work is breaking gameplay, alot.

 

I dont think u can pvp while i fligth. If so its new on this mod pack. On infinity and every other pack i have played on u have to do /pvp to be abel to do a pvp battle and if u have /fly on u get a mesagge in chat saying you cannot pvp while in fligth. So every strike u do do not give any dmg.

 

You can. PvP is automatically enabled on Civi, there is no /pvp toggle. I'd ask you to at least play the pack and get correct facts before posting.

 

And then it shuld get automaticly turnd off for a player in fligth.

Again, you have not tested if it is turned off but are implying it does. It does not.

 

Easy fix, disable fly while in pvp, for 2 min before, and must be on the ground to start pvp. When attacked by another player pvp is automatically turned off and not able to turn on till after pvp is turned off, 2 min after pvp is over.

 

If u want to fight a player with flight go to my arena its public and u can fight peeps there :0 but very highly doubt flight will be turned off for donators

 

I mean that if u are in fligth then u cannot engade in a pvp battle befor /fly is off. Its up to u if u want to land or not.

 

People can be engaged in pvp when flying (/fly) i know i killed a few

 

Guys flight is not hard to get in the pack.
Silent Gems has flight using Chaos. While it take 2 nether stars to craft, its far from "end game"

You can make a Simple Jetpack withing about an hour of playing.

I am not aware of a way to make /fly disable on PvP.
