I too am having this problem but its not just the client crashing the whole launcher crashes for me and I cant seem to pull up crash reports on...
really ive never had any problems running steam games other than the oldies like doom or tombraider(non-steam version) though I can run the steam...
the issue has not been resolved but I believe he/she has given up on attempting to fix the problem
