Unless you fail at Tech mods, A noob or emergencyYou can also use it while starving/dying
If you have friends, that eliminates the whole point of it, you can just feed from players
Untill then, you are stuck with nothing
Why not add both of them? Villages arent infinite, even in the farmworld

Add "Warm Blood" item in the market, so Vampires can buy it and drink it. It's dangerious to look for villagers, since you cant tell what time is...
