would like to know if this problem is known and when it will be solved.

problem: you equip any backpack from mod "backpack", put some items in there and go to lobby, you will see that you dont have backpack at all... but when you go back to your server you see that its in place and all items are safe. so i guess problem is that the backpack slot "shift+b" is not syncing between servers

Then the backpack doesn't get saved in the player file.

There's a reason that the backpacks aren't seen in lobby. Does the issue happen between servers? East to South etc.?

Yes, between all servers. Backpack exists only on the server it was equipped on.

I can do some poking around when I get back from work and see if I can find where backpack data is stored, if we can find it then it might be possible to add it to the invsync, but no promises!

This is the reply from mod creator -> in 1.6.x the data is stored in the NBT Data of the ItemStack itself.
From 1.7.2 on only the UUID is stored in the ItemStack all the other data is stored in saves/{your_world}/backpacks/*
