Done Spell bugs

I encountered an annoying waste of resources involving Firestorm spells. I've made two so far, and the first time I thought I had accidently made it wrong, since it had Area of Effect instead of projectile. I threw it away and made a second one, this time with projectile. I used it, and noticed nothing happened. I looked and saw that instead of projectile the spell had Area of Effect. I couldn't shoot it. It became a worthless spell. What the heck is wrong? Am i doing something stupid or is it the mod.

 

From the sounds of it, one of two things:

1. You created the spell incorrectly. It needs to be made in a specific order, and if not will not work. Spells can have multiple types. So it can be both an AOE and projectile spell. How you write it is important.
2. Do not trust the visual when creating the spell. (Where you throw the ingredients in.) Actually write down the ingredients, and the order, and throw them in in that order.

 

There have also been issues with the crafting altar unloading partway through spellcrafting. Working on a fix for that ATM.

 

I used the ingredients specifically needed for the Projectile shape (arrow & snowball) while crafting the recipe, so I know it had Projectile when it was crafted

 

Just using the correct ingredients is not enough, they also need to be in the correct order.

 

Booker, the spell recipe is written in the book. In the book it says "Projectile" as its shape. While crafting the spell, the book, which needs to be on a lecturn as part of the spell crafting altar, shows which items to throw in next. It will not accept an item that its not showing. There is no way to create a spell the wrong way. Upon later using the Projectile Firestorm Spell, its shape had been changed to Area of Effect, which was not used in the spell's recipe or written in the book.[DOUBLEPOST=1458578222][/DOUBLEPOST]And, when I say "There is no way to create a spell the wrong way" I mean that you can not fail to create your intended spell. Ofcourse this also applies to spells that don't work once crafted, as that's the spell maker's fault, not the crafting altars.

So it ain't my fault, good to know. Still, it stinks that I've made two spells in a row that have done this.

I've found that if you do it all in one go, without disconnecting, it works fine.
