Now I know the need for a new pack is probably extremely low (Expert skyblock) but I've been itching to play a 1.8.9 modpack with the community and as far as I know, there's none as of now. So I'd like to request this modpack. The Pioneers - Magic - Minecraft Modpacks - Curse This pack is known as "the pioneers" and according to the site, is the 6th release, created by Cyanide (Yes, THE cyanide) It's got a few familiar mods like thaumcraft and such, recipe/balance changes and there are the new mods such as Psi. Granted, a few mods such as Psi, would prove to be a cause of griefing which makes the server much harder to setup but I think that it will all be worth it in the end to have a somewhat decent 1.8.9 pack to play on. Let me know if I missed any info that might make it harder to decide whether to have this pack and I'll try to add it. Thank you for your time.
I p Personally was surprised to find one that runs at more then 10 fps. I guess having optifine and the new 1.8.9 performance fixes did the trick.
At this time we can only support 1.6.4 and 1.7.10 packs. Upgrading to 1.8 or 1.9 requires hundreds of hundreds of hours work.
Its likely that we will never have a server for a 1.8 pack as there is only a very limited amount of mods for 1.8 and most of them are either already on 1.9 or working on it.
yeah, but my hopes are that either 1.9 mods won't support the new swing ....... swing thing, o there will be a mod that disables it. that'd be great. also, i can see where draconic evolution would flourish in a 1.9 minecraft environment (hint, the overhauled end)
very much agreed all this 1.7.10 is getting old i am ready for some new mods and most importantly for a new adventure BUT first .....i must pass my GCSE's
Truthly its very true that there wont be many packs for 1.8 and 1.9 for a very long time but in my opnion I would use that and make sure your server ready for when those packs do inevitably come out by working on it periodically till then. As you said there were hundreds of hours of work and if packs like that don't come out till 1 or 2 years from now you would only have to work 1 to half an hour every day on it. Of course I dont know if this is all possible but if so I would say its a good idea, as it would also insure you that you are one of the first communities to have 1.8 or 1.9 modpacks when they do actually come out.
Firstly @BennSC 1.9 packs won't come out for a while as the MYM network are going to 1.9 Secondly as Slind as said an infamous pack doesn't get added unless it has a lot of popularity from the community
Do you mean what? Cyanide is any chemical compound that contains monovalent combining group CN. This group, known as the cyano group, consists of a carbonatom triple-bonded to a nitrogenaton atom. If you actually mean who then... He's a YouTube/twitch person that plays and sometimes makes packs.
