Seeing as some of the servers are laggy due to them being filled with big or un-optimized mods, I think it would be nice if we could get a /vote restart feature added to temporaraly fix any issues going on. In my opinion this would especially help on mym`s The Crack Pack server as it experiencing memory leak issues. Though it would only be a temp fix for that server it would still help. I would just like to have a simple poll here to see how many people would like to see this feature added as much as i would, and have people express their feelings about this idea. Thank you
This feature was abused in the past and that is why we no longer use it. We now have staff that can come online at anytime and make adjustments which will aid in reducing the lag issues.
How was it abused?? If it taked multiple people to fufill the command then i dont see how that could happen?
People think its funny to restart the server over and over so everyone groups up in chat and does it for a laugh. Not realising or caring that its effecting other players game play. If there are 10 people online then you would only need 6 votes to make it restart etc.
Ohh is see what you mean yah that could be a problem but couldnt you make it to where they vote and it summons a mod/admin it to assess the problem if none are on?
If they do that it's the same as the current system no ? Also sometimes people think restart help but the problem come from something help so they will keep restarting the server for something that can not be solved by a restart You can add a cool down to the vote tho to prevent abusing it tho
I don't like how a voting system for restarting a server is good and all. Some problems can't be fixed with just a restart. It's best just for a yearly restart for full enjoyment of a server or if the server is not receiving a lot of new players or active players in a given time.
We also have Teamspeak and Slack which allows you to poke staffs if it is required, you better use these since tickets tend to stay for a while without being noticed.
The system was designed to only work with a minimum amount of uptime and lag. The issue was that it was used nearly whenever it was possible, causing major performance issues (which could be fixed) to go unseen for months.
yes, i can definitely see this as an abuse. and i remember a similar suggestion a few months back. i was never here when a voted on restart was a thing, but i can tell you, from experience (i played a few servers before with this option) that... well, i've had a few game crashes caused by restarts every 10 minutes v.v (i didn't stay there long...)
