the people that got the most points got into the top 10 then the ppl that get the most votes wins the overall competition

Points do indeed no longer matter.

That is how the system worked, we used the points to gather our top 10 and based on that top 10 you guys voted for players.

After that the points didn't matter anymore as the person with the most votes would win.

The judges voted, each gave 10 points with their vote. The staff voted, each gave 2 points with their vote. The players voted, each giving 1 point per vote.

 

Well I got the competition winner achievement like half an hour ago

 

Everything worked out fine, except that you seem to have a problem with any result that happened. This event is over and done with.
