Hey everyone, I am writing this ticket for my son. We play the crackpack together on the weekends.. and for the last 2 weeks, everytime he starts the modpack using the MYM launcher it takes, no joke, around 50 minutes for the modpack to load.

I have check everything, he has enough RAM and his machine is not the oldest.

I have tested with several different modpacks, like direwolf20 and skyfactory and those load normally.

Has anyone else come across something like this? Or has any ideas?

    My modpack loads normally..

Does he have any external mods that he added besides what was given to him from the launcher? What stage is it taking the longest at? I know for me personally, it takes the longest for textures. How is his settings in game?

As soon as he gets the unity screen which states loading it takes ages. the only addition is optifine, although I have tested with and without..same issue

Would it be possible for you to record the loading process? I know it will be 50 minutes but it still might help :) Plus we can always put it in 4x mode if its on youtube :)

I will try that, I have just removed optifine and created a new user account on the computer, I have managed to get it to start in 15-20 minutes which is better but still does not make sense

    Using the MYM launcher right?
@johnfg12 have you got the exception you can put in the launcher to decrease load time?

If you say this has been happening for the last 2 weeks then I assume it was loading just fine on the same computer up until then?

If so then I would suggest just do a "hard force update" if you haven't already (right click on the modpack in the launcher) to completely reinstall a fresh copy of the modpack.. that should get rid of anything that doesn't need to be there that might be slowing down the load time.

Does this happen in other Modpacks too? What drive is he booting off? Is the usage pegged whilst opening?

Edit: I'm not sure if this modpack has the forge loading screen, But from previous experiences. Disabling the loading screen can significantly improve loading time. if you go to splash.properties In your modpack files and change the line "enabled=true" to "enabled=false" and it should help with the loading speeds. Splash.properties is found in the /config/ file of your file directory.
