So I am getting close to summoning a demon portal and I am wondering where I should summon it. I thought to just summon it above my base but it grows so I thought it might not be a good idea to pollute the overworld with a continually growing demon portal. My next thought was to spawn it in the farm world but I kind of want to keep it around for awhile because I know you have to wait for it to expand enough to get certain items. Is there an official preference or what do you think I should do?
well you can do it in farmworld and chunkload it a while, so it keeps spreading. usually 1-2hours of chunkloading with 9x9 from the invasion center is enough to farm enough shards for T6 stuff. Anyway i prefer to make the invasion above the bedrock on top of the nether. so new players can't use it to farm items they aren't supposed to get that early. you can get on top of nether with enderpearls or staff of traveling. another place where you can do it is the last millenium which doesnt reset at all. if you decide to do it in farmworld or nether you should wait for the next reset which is at 1st of each month, so you can use the invasion for the whole month

Yea farmworld is your best bet. Dont do it too close to a reset date because its slow with spawning. Dont do it like me... In the overworld xD No harm was done, but there is a sizable demon city now in the IE4 overworld
