    Background
Ok, so when I play on MYM, I have watchdog open, just because I love all the numbers and stuff, and I find it interesting to see whats going on with the server. Now most people here know what "Ping" is, but for those who don't, Ping is the amount of time it takes for a small packet of information to be sent to another place and return again. Ping is measured in mili-seconds, and the lower the number, the faster the information travels. Lots of people complain about lag spikes, and shorter lag spikes have less to do with the servers TPS (Ticks per second) then with the ping. When the server has bad ping time, things like a chat message taking a few minutes to send will happen.

    General Idea
So with watchdog showing all the information for the TPS in the average over 30 seconds, 2 minutes, 5 minutes, and 10 minutes, I thought that it could be informative to show the average ping time over 30 seconds, 2, 5, and 10 minutes alongside the TPS, for a more in-depth understanding of the lag. I believe that we could also cross-check the times when the server's ping is low to operations that the server is doing to have a better understanding of what causes lag where TPS wouldn't show.

I'm not sure if this is possible to implement, but I have seen some servers where if you do the /ping command in game, you can see in detail information about TPS, chunks, ping, and other information, similar to the /TPS command.

Thank you for taking the time to read out this little suggestion.

I'm afraid this is not possible in the way you imagine it.
The ping is highly location and connection based and always requires a client. Meaning it would be lower during the European times and higher during the US times.
It would also not indicated lag spikes anymore than the performance section because as you describe it, it would be the average. To be honest it would always need the same clients on each server to be accurate and be impacted by issues within the network outside the data center which we have no control over.

I don't see how this could be in any way helpful :(

Would this hold any weight if it was just the current ping?
Not averaged out like TPS, but just what its currently getting?

    Edit:
Can I just say WOW, you founders and admins are extremely active on the forums, I haven't seen that one any other server the way you guys are!

The problem is the website would display the ping from the webserver to the game servers, not you (the player's) ping time between you and the game servers. I believe /ping works in game to display this information.

Would there be anyway to have watchdog show the ping from you to a server, or would that cause way too much traffic/not be possible?

I think its too complicated to realise it in the way you want. Also the website would need your permission that it is allowed to send and receive packages to determine the ping to the servers(we have more then 1).
but you can insert any of our server ip's to a ping tool, so you get what you want.
or you can use /ping ingame i think /ping 2 gives you the exact ms :)
