If you have the primordial gauntlet from witching gadgets, it won't be able to pick up nodes due to Gadomancy changing the nodes. However, there is a workaround, this does not affect nodes that are within blocks, such as silverwood tree nodes or obsidian totem nodes. You can pick up those nodes, I've tested it and it worked.
