Rather than bringing up the way for people to help pay off the server for some cosmetic stuff I think it would be a better and long-term solution to fix the problems players are facing and in that way help reach out to a bigger community of people who are planning to stay on the server. If that is the case more people would want to help the server in the way of donating money. Not for any cosmetic benefits, but to help the server and maybe let it be able to support the 1.10 servers again.

Most problems people have are not dedicated to hardware, more, whats the ambience on the network, so they are pretty easy to fix.

 

You're seriously confused in how this works, I think. People donate, they get cosmetic things and a few perks, and that money already will be going to help better the network and buy servers and upkeep. So im not exactly sure what you mean by this, lol.

 

Rather than trying to obtain money from some people that are on the server longer than others MyM should fix the issues on why the bigger crowd doesnt play here. That way they are able to obtain even more money than just by a few.

But as it's been pointed out, it's a problem with all modded Minecraft currently. I think it's because of a lack of decent packs, myself, but that's a conversation for a different topic, I believe.

 

It's probably also worth mentioning that some years back Microsoft changed to terms of use to disallow pay for play for specific scenarios that create a different experience for those who pay from those who don't. So server operators hands are sort of tied in what they can offer, and cosmetic items are just one of those things that people may find value in that doesn't violate the terms of use.

But yeah if the bigger problem is that 75% of the people have moved on to another pack because they got all they can out of this one, then it's no longer a question of how can we make our network so good we can get back to 600 players. It's more what are we going to do with this 600 player capacity that costs us twice as much per month as our 300 player demand?

A legitimate question in my book, but I've just started over so many times that early game grind is just unappealing to me, and so I would probably not start over on another 1.7 server here because I've already done that.

But if I could port that grindy stuff from server A to server B for consolidation purposes, I'd keep playing because I've do enjoy the mindless maintenance of my base. I also help new players when I can, and that help random people who try the server more likely to stay (and I'm not just talking about me, but the longer term players that add stability and add value to the /market, which in turn creates an incentive for new players to vote, which in turn brings in more new players)...

That's google trend of "minecraft" phrase. I know it's not like global users online chart but I'm pretty sure it corresponds with global interest of a game. So, may 2017- ~36, may 2016- ~60, basically third less on popularity scale. Not much we can do about it, simply, minecraft is less and less popular. I't something that any game has to face, sooner or later.

 

Might be, though when u google up "minecraft: pocket edition" trend loox pretty much same...

 

If I could only pay $5 instead of the minimum $10 i would, but the $10 monthly is a little too much for me.

 

Well I throw money at the network to help out those special staffers who need perks.

 

So I subscribed to be a Patron and after going in-game I became curious if the tags for Patron and Patron+ were intended to be the same ( "Patron" ) instead of one tier being Patron and the other tag being Patron+.

 

It does not bother me. If others send in their thoughts towards changing the tag then so be it.

I was mainly curious about it because everything else has a differentiation between ranks. For donors it's the color of the plus after their ign.

inactivity probably means the claim reset which is normally 2 weeks

 

After becoming a Patron I believe it would be good to voice my opinions on the features.

- Increased Inactivity Timer:
Great addition. I sometimes happen to disappear from MyM for 2 weeks to a month or more at times to not suffer from burnout. Just to find my progress gone.

- Early Access To New Servers
I like the idea as it gives a minor edge over others who decide to play the same pack. I do believe this timer could be longer since there is usually no benefit for starting only 2 days earlier in a mod pack unless competing with friends.

- Vote Tokens for Daily Logins
Getting essentially 24/48 tokens for just logging into the server with out needing to do any verifications on multiple websites and so on. No Complaints I love this feature.

- Highlighted forum border and colored IGN in-game
Nice feature for others to be able to tell that I am a Patron. There could be an altered Forum Border/Title as well as a Tag in-game to differentiate between Patron and Patron+. There could be not that there has to be. Mainly up to the majority of Patrons if they would like it or not.

I'd still love to be a patron, but as I've said already $10 is a little too much for me. $5 would be a good amount though.
Other people might feel this way too, I'd consider adding in the $5 amount to broaden the scope so that people who earn less money could still support the server.

 

A fixed rate of $1-2 and $5 would not be a bad idea looking at how little $10 Patron gives anything under that amount might not even give anything except a forum title and a tag in game with no color change for the ign.
That is only a suggestion. Always up for the staff to decide what they choose to do/award.

Your right, most people arent jumping into VR/AR for another 5-10 years. We need a videocard that can push 4k per eye, and a less bulky headset. Once you do VR there is no going back tho.
