Phantom Energy Faces on Beyond

    Their has recently been a high number of Phantom Energy faces used to abuse the interaction between them and the rainbow generator, these setups have reached almost 100b rf/t, Whenever I come into view of these systems my game lags horribly, these machines also appear to have a large impact on TPS on Beyond, I would recommend either banning the Phantom Energy Faces or somehow limiting the amount each player is allowed to use, Or another idea that I have been suggested by a player is to ban The Rainbow Generator as that is what is being abused(Not used as intended by the mod author).

    Firstly, can you not directly accuse me of ruining TPS? thanks, secondly @Kronnn AND @Peace7904 can confirm that my setup does not affect TPS anywhere close to the majority of other things, therefore, the claims that they are major TPS drainers is false, thirdly: They are being used as intended, the phantom energyface is supposed to be an extension of a block, the rainbow generator makes 25M rf/t per side, therefore their use is *technically* the intended usage, and the only theoretical way to achieve my goal of filling a tier 8 core, would you rather I have 1000000 generators from Nether Stars or have a near 0 tps affect on the server with less than 1/1000th of the space with a rainbow generator, for reference, the 2nd picture is a (not up-to date) picture of my setup, which is currently making this much:

    Again I am not accusing anyone of anything, nor do I have anything other than my hunchs on TPS, as I have written this as a player and not a staff member and as such cannot use those tools. However the point of this was to spark the discussion as I know how I and others feel.

    Please do not tag me as I did not confirm anything in regards to this being an issue with tps or not.

    I can assure you the image of your base was not intended Rebel, as that was not taken during a normal time, however the other images were taken as a player, I have also experienced the FPS drop firsthand (As I live next to chugga). If you would like me to remove the image of your base, that can be done let me know.
    Side Note:I am not acting with the intention to attack any players, these screenshots simply show the setup, nor is it meant to bring about any personal issues about power generation, just bringing up a topic to discuss.

    well me personally as a player think there maybe a problem using the phantom energy faces in that sort of build...i suspect that using the phantom faces with a rainbow generator should be on 1 level only.. as in if rainbow generator was placed on y level 7 all phantom faces should only be on y level 7

    I will not deny: these things are almost as bad as walruses were, but the thing is, my setup is better than the alternative (I had it all on one Y level, several times more energy pylons were used, I experienced MUCH bigger FPS drops from this)

    Thay have a impact on server perfomance. I know that because we profiled them on other servers.

    Such stuff can be done in Singleplayer, not on Servers where you share the Resources with other Players that want to play without Lag!

    well i think the way its setup is causing looping issues...as each phantom face is connected to a pylon or either the rainbow generator..which i dont see how coz if u use a 9 grid. look on keypad.. 5 is ur rainbow, odd numbers are pylons and even are generating from rainbow...it will just loop constantly. then if u add a 2nd layer the effect doubles, then plus the extra face connected to unknown, ( cant see through blocks) ..then multi layers then convert the y axis to x,z. causing loops in other directions

    I believe he is saying to limit the size and keep it 2d, therefore making it a 2d square and limited inside say a 10x10 area.

    But they are 3d hence removing the limit, and if im not mistaken that is a limit by the energy core and in no way addresses the issue of the actual power generation.

    I have no idea what you're on about, since no pylon connection is touching another pylon connection, they can't "loop", this is part of the extreme efficiency of the setup, whereas the old one required more space, had less compactness for the same energy generation, etc.

    I ask you how much this is because I have seen the server at 20 tps for a while with mine on

    While the players that have the phallic generation with rainbows generators are on. There is little impact on server. But as you have gone from 40-ish Brf/t- to the 80-ish Brf/t on June 5th i saw the average TPS go from 15-ish to around 11-ish but that is not definitive as there are other factors that could contribute. But, I would not be surprised that it was not directly related to energyfaces connected to Rainbow generators. The main issue is when anyone that has the array of energyfaces that are pictured are logged off. When someone loads the chunks that the phallic generators are in the server freaks out and TPS drops to below 1 TPS. This has been seen on many occasions and in my understanding causes the server to close without logs so the staff can not troubleshoot/track the issue.

    The exploit of using energyfaces to extract more energy then the mod author intended is a clear violation of the looping of power rules. as you are intentional exploiting a bug in the rainbow generator and phantomface coding to exceed the power output of it by several exponential levels. When the '/TPS' command is run it show a number of entities that should be loading and unloading as player come and go in there bases. But instead there is a massive number that stays constant that can be inferred as issues with the way Phantomfaces interact with each other and the Rainbow Generator in the pictured Array. The permanently bugged/exploited usages of these blocks to create billions of Rf/t over the mod authors intended limit. And this is a perfect example of power reinforcement via looping that is violating the no circuit loops.

    I think the discussion is getting a bit over-complicated.

    Our policy regarding resource consumption is that if any object or system is causing a substantial impact on performance it will be removed or disabled if that would result in a restoration of server performance.

    If it proves to be a continual issue, the item itself could be banned.

    If said pylons do cause performance issues, they are subject to the above. ^

    just get a experienced admin to profile it over some time and post the results here..

    if its a big drain remove them. maybe give creative cells to avoid further massive setups of this sort.
    say if you can run a rainbow gen and you can make 2k energy face you can "trade" it for a creative cell, a bit like it was with the fusion reactor on monster. where you just had to prove that you could run it and you got a creative cell. theese setups reqire a massive resource cost and time investment so its not much diffrent.

    on the otherhand. if they turn out to not cause much tps drain just leave them as is.

    problem solved....

    I did, it was near nothing, it's also running atm with the server at 20 tps

    I'd be down for that, the thing is that I currently make around 50x what each side of that cube would output...
