After attempting to get to level 9 for witchery vampirism multiple times, it seems that I am unable to do so. (I tried doing what was required to level up at least five different times with different sets of villagers each time) I have all pages in my Observations of an Immortal book, and am definitely level 8 currently as I do have the mesmerize ability. I can successfully drain half blood from all villagers without damaging however I am not leveling up for doing so. Attached is a picture of my current cages and villagers that are needed to become level 9. Is there any way to fix this so I would be able to level up properly? Thank you for taking the time to read.
try making the tops of the cages out of full wood plank blocks or full slabs (I don't remember which) instead of some of each. The mod might not recognize them.

While switching the wood I realized that I was using chiseled iron fences. After switching those out, it worked. Thank you for your help c:
