Playing on AoE node #3 I noticed that the Gravestone mod seems to be set to default, which means you get a handy death note when death. I could see some reasons why someone may want to keep it, like a wall of item frames filled with the notes to track deaths, and not destroying the note means you have that choice. There is an option in the mod so that once you get back to your grave and break it, the note is automatically destroyed, instead of keeping it. I think that once you have your stuff back, it would be nice to not have the note still in your inventory, without the need to toss it somewhere or destroy it. Perhaps more people than I realize prefer to keep the note after getting their stuff back, but I get the impression that most (maybe all) don't. I guess it comes down to having the option of keeping it versus convenience. I personally would rather have it destroyed automatically, and can't imagine many, if any, would want to keep it. Thoughts?
I like this idea, personally when one of the 5 base-mates I have die on AoE node 1 the death note always end up lying on the floor around our base after we retrieve our grave. I think it might be a good idea to have this but for some people who may want to keep theirs it may be a problem.
It is a very small matter to throw it away, and plenty of players that never see this thread would probably prefer to keep theirs.
It would certainly help with reducing amount of litter at the spawn of AoE. Some players throw away their death notes at the spawn and other players complain about it.
I have a feeling that some of the issue at spawn is from people with Journey Map that feel they don't need/want the note (since the mod adds a waypoint on death) and are tossing it before they even go to get their stuff back. The more I think about it, the more I think AceOfBases is spot on. It isn't too big of a deal to trash your own note, and retaining the note is the safer option, in case anyone wants the option to keep it.
