As the title says. most people won't know what the heck it is and I'm sure a lot of people won't like it.
Disabling it by default would be nice so only people that actually want to use it will see it.
Also, an option to disable certain servers would be great.
Also curious about how it works with ignored users.

Finally, a command to enable or disable global chat would be great since I personally would enable and disable it often, and going through the menu every time would be annoying.

    Edit:
This could easily be "Fixed" by adding an announcement to the rotation of server reminders such as "Did you know douping is the most common reason for network-wide bans?"
"Did you know there is a global network chat? enable it in the Menu!"

There is an option that has just been added into the game that lets your turn off Global chat so you dont have to see all of the messages,

it is found on the Global changelog: Global Changelog

I like your point to disable it by default, but your point of having to manually turn it off everytime you load, i believe that has also been fixed, but i havnt loaded a MyM pack since i resigned, so i wouldnt know, just thought i would put this out there, i personally would like to have it disabled by default.

    Just my 2 cents.

Disabled by default = deemed "not recommended" = used by practically noone = removed

I know you can disable it completly, But disabling selected servers would still be nice, as an example, I'm playing on a skyblock so I want to disable all non skyblock servers so when I'm talking I know I'm only talking with other skyblock players.

Never said anything about this at all.
I would turn it on and off a lot because sometimes I want to talk to the community, but 10 minutes later I will want to play mostly alone and disable it, then 20 minutes later Ill want to see whats up with the network.
    Rinse and repeat.
Going through the menu every 20 minutes would get kinda annoying when Being able to do something like /g toggle would be a lot faster and easier.

Sounds a bit complex to code from a developer stand point. Not even sure how you would go about this. This defeats the purpose of "Global Chat." This sounds like a different chat entirely.
    This seems easy enough.
I don't really like the idea of having it disabled by default personally.

That's what I was thinking, still seems like it would be a nice feature personally.

Do you mind if i ask why?

A <censored> of values and If's, as well as the thing having to be updated every time a new server is created or an old server is shut down, if I understand correctly

So I will tell you this from mine and an Admin perspective.
Admin: If we disable it by default, new players to the network will not get to experience this cool feature. Then can actually use it when the hit 24 hours of playtime. They could learn a lot about server rules. Like what to do and what not to do. Talking to the experienced player base is a really positive experience in my eyes.
Aidoneus: The entire reason I come onto a Multiplayer networks is to interact with people. If I didn't want to interact with people, I would just play single player. Learn new builds, ways of automating machines, or being inspired by creations players have. As I know this can get annoying to see global chat all the time, I can just disable it. (+1 by SirWill)

Overall, I just do not see why disabling it by default is the "recommended/default option." Don't get me wrong though. I do see your point as I can see it getting annoying some days.

Forgot about the 24-hour requirement, What if it was disabled by default for the first 24 hours? (Cant talk, cant see) I feel seeing chat you cant talk it would just get annoying, especially since new players wouldn't know HOW to disable it or that there even is a /shop function.

I personally liked that I saw global chat when I logged on today, but there were a few people that kept trying to reply to it using the server chat (Not /global) and generally not understanding what it was. they would be like "I didn't know we had ____ on this server" (Because someone in global mentioned some mod item thats not in the pack)
Maybe there could be some small tutorial in the /rules when you log onto a server for the first time? This wouldnt help old players but when logging into a new server, players would be able to know what it was.

you shouldn't get into the habit of answering questions directed specifically at someone else :p

This could be solved by adding a scrolling message in-chat. Think you said something about this in another post. Like a scrolling information message.

It's quite common in Poland to answer such questions if you know the answer and the question in not about the person it's adressed to (especially on internet forums). Sorry if it is considered rude in America.

It is already possible to connect the chat of multiple servers but this is only enabled for servers with connected inventories atm.
