yeah, just the idea of a 1-chunk base gives me remembrance of my battles with tps and lag-seeker plugins on AoE cause' my base had too many conduits XD Anyway, back to the topic with ye! (My attempt to put this train back on it's rails, so to speak.)
This has already been discussed in this thread, lol. If someone else wants to break progression, let them. It shouldn't change your experience in the slightest.
Closest thing you'll get to a list, at least from Mojang themselves, is their demon spawn of an EULA.
thats a bit extreme fam... they are just a regular business like everyone else they just making sure no one is poluting the communty
...Uh, pretty sure your issues are literally never going to end with this after reading the EULA and seeing it says you are not allowed to "try to make money from anything we've made", including "updates, patches, downloadable content, add-ons, or modified versions of a Game, part of those things". I'd argue that making money off of servers full stop is technically not allowed under this, but it also definitely says that it is against the EULA to gate any form of modification or addon of their base game (in other words, literally anything that could happen in the game) behind a paywall. What it seems to fairly clearly say is that you can't charge anything for anything that depends on minecraft, such as: Commands from addons which are made for minecraft, such as /back, /god, /fly, /home. Items from modifications made for minecraft (kits) Whitelisting servers to be exclusively to people who pay Actually anything. It's pretty cut and dry that if its gating content from the game, or gating content from modifications for the game, it is against the EULA, meaning literally everything in the original post except Discord Channels, Forum Highlighting, and Priority Support are not allowed. Arguably Cosmetics such as Titles, Nicknames, Colored Names, Cosmetic Armor, Chat Colors, Greetings, and Particle Effects will (while technically against EULA) be ignored since they have such little impact. Also arguably Inactivity Timer Extending, Bonus Claim Blocks, and No AFK-Kick will be allowed since they have very little footprint. Having kits and commands given out to the whole server is a way around that, but only unless it's not purchased. As long as it can be simplified down to Purchase Made --> Content Unlocked, it is against the EULA. There is no part of the EULA saying "as long as everyone is equal its fine", it's simply about the fact that if anything is purchased (even if for everyone) it is against the EULA. I'm sure I'm not the only one to point this out, but it's quite a important point considering most of the changes to the payment options change nothing in the eyes of Mojang. EDIT: You say that, but trading end game items which break progression is against the rules, while this (which is infinitely worse in my opinion) is allowed. Doesn't make much sense to me, unless the rules are obviously being broken for donors...
Talking about the prices, thing like 5€ a month is good, And you should consider micro-transactions because it's cheaper and easier to be done for low budget people like me. 5€ a month and/or a few of transaction of 2-5€ is something i can consider frequently. Above 20€, it's something i can't consider more than once every 3-4 months, even if in the end, i spent more moeny with low sum.
I do think 50€ a month is daylight robbery, but if you moved all the perks but the server from tier 4 to tier 3, and then kept the server on tier 4, it would be acceptably priced. The fact that you'd have to pay 200€ to get the full abandoned claim time is way over the line imo.
If I understood sirwill Slind correctly when he answered my question much earlier in this thread, yes. Previous donors keep everything (perks, kits, etc.) But upgrades and the general rank will no longer be available on the shop.
