I think people would play normal mode of dj. Not everyone has time for the grind. Like more people play po2 than people play po2k.
I think this idea is good, it would be good opening a normal mode server. It might generate an influx of others that as Sand said dont have time for the grindyness of an expert based pack.
Having played both.. it still is an insane grind. You're looking at six hundred hours versus nine hundred hours so it is still going to be an intense pack.
Time consuming is the nature of the pack. With 800 quests you can probably average them to be about 1hr per (the fast early ones offset the harder long and late quests) .. It's at about 800 or so. I do think offering DJ with the less intense recipes may help drum up some more interest. Lots of minecraft players seem to enjoy the easier version vs the difficult, for instance, Infinity evolved vs expert. Just my 2c!
I think it's a mistake to compare PO2 normal and IE normal to DJ normal. I dont think people who enjoy kitchen sinks and generally easier packs would ever complete DJ, even on normal mode. The pack is just that grindy, normal mode or not.
Same here I'd loved to see a normal mode on this pack, because I like options. I never liked being forced to progress in a certain way. But thats just my opinion.
I am going to decide against this. I really don't think this would be worth it in the long run. We have changes in the works for more packs though. =)
