Does anyone have any idea what this is?

Does anyone know what could have caused this? Seems to be a massive pillar of ores and soulsand. There's a lot of rock crystals floating around on top.

 

It looks like someone built it to me but then again it could be natural generation

if this was in the wild or over world im guessing somone was attempting to place ores for the crystal shards
