    Hi all,

A fair while ago, i had the unfortunate and hard to explain issue, that for no apparent reason, some of my ME system cables, but also ME interfaces and Quantum link bridges, broke and just disappeared.

If this has been happening to you as well, below is the fix for your issue.
With thanks to Admin-Kronnn who gave me the solution/workaround. Also with Thanks to Jr.Admin-Tipsied for extended help testing.

    The Cause:
You are very likely using a Security Terminal. This is part of the problem and the fix. The terminal prevents unknown users, except for those you inserted a biometric card with build permissions, to add blocks to the network. When your base unloads upon you leaving the area, or logging off, the next time you return, the chunks re-activate and the cables, crossing chunk-borders, are re-connected again to the network. However the network sees this as an unknown player connecting cables to it and your security terminal then says NO. So the cables disconnect and if you are not around, they despawn. This also goes for ME interfaces and other affiliated ME system blocks.

    The solution:
Make a new biometric card. do not bind it to a specific person (aka leave it blank) and give it Build permission in the security terminal. Then put it in the terminal and your system will not break again.

I have tested this for a while now and it works perfectly. Hope this helps.

Excellent idea, I was aware there were issues with the security terminal doing silly things, but that is an excellent fix to prevent it in the future.

Kronnn really should get all the credit, since he mentioned this all in my private bug report. :)

Bumping topic because i had to explain this issue to someone very recently and figured it wouldnt hurt if it was up in the list again :)

Just to bring it under some AE2 user's attention again that this is still happening.
