I recently switched my base from Power Converters to Mekanism Energy Cubes because Power Converters stops working once in a while and it's annoying.

However, me and my friends noticed that the FPS in the base has dropped ever since we started to use Mekanism Energy Cubes. We did some testing. Without Energy Cubes the average is around 25-50 FPS. With Energy cubes we get an average of around 15-30 FPS.

I looked up the issue online and we are not the only ones who have this problem. Apparently the Energy Cubes change their appearance and light level based on the charge level. So when it is changing a lot, it causes a lot of updates and results in lower FPS.

I tried to use 'EU Adapters' from engineer's toolbox but they only output 512 EU per tick. This is not enough for my machines. So, I would prefer to use Mekanism.

There is a solution posted online about changing a config option on Mekanism. Orignal Source

    B:FancyUniversalCableRender=false
    B:MachineEffects=false

I would do this myself but I think these config options are server side. Is this something the admins would be willing to change? Maybe it was discussed before but I can't find it on the forums.

    Hey :)

    -Launch the MyM Launcher
-Rightclick "Tppi" on the MyM Launcher
    -Select "View Folder"
-Then go into the folder "config"
-Search for "Mekanism.cfg" and open it with any kind of notepad

-And change the 2 lines of code you posted :)
    -Save & Launch

(Dont know how it works for mac or linux)

Should work on other os too. If this doesn't work, then @Tomuchan is right and the config is server side, but please try it first.

No I am wrong, Kinqstone is correct. That was my mistake and thanks for the fix- I thought the cfg file would be inside the mekanism folder.
