Info Server Shutdowns (See thread for details) [April 2020]

Hey again folks! Long time no see! How are the kids? ahem... sorry let's get back on topic
I come bearing bad news. Unfortunately, the server shutdown fairy has come again to ruin all the fun!

The Admin team recently met to discuss the issues on the MYM network and we were all in agreement:

• We are pushing the machines to their limits and the lack of server resources (RAM) causes major issues when even minor problems arise.
• With limited space, putting up new servers becomes a juggling act of server shutdowns that takes weeks, if not months, to implement.
• With 30 servers we spend so much time chasing minor bugs that we rarely have time to work on major issues or optimize the servers.

In short, we believe trimming back the network a little will help us improve performance across the board, resolve issues in a more timely manner, and make it easier to offer new packs to the community on a regular basis. The servers we have selected have a relatively low population and very few new players. We're sure players will miss them, but we hope they can find a new place among the community on one of the other servers.

Servers will be shutdown in 1 week on April 2nd

O h n o, t h e h a r b r i n g e r o f d e a t h i s b a c k. Well I guess it was their time.
I will always have fond memories of crackpack and Agrarian skies here on the server.

 

I will miss Crackpack the most honestly... It was such an awesome pack.
But when Server get Closed... will new ones get opened? Maybe a RLCraft server?

 

The whole point of closing them was to alleviate the load of the machines and to open up some more server resources so the existing ones don't go haywire , so I don't think they will open new servers anytime soon.

 

Yeah I know but one can dream T-T

 

Never played as1 on mym, but good pack. Dj was fun, but grindy. The rest, whatever.

 

Finally, I can fly my ship one last time! Nobody will care now I guess

 

I wouldn't be so sure of that.

I applaud the shutdown in anticipation of the new servers which will come very quickly to alleviate the corona-boredom-plague we're currently experiencing. All hail to the Chief!

 

I've played a few of these servers now and normally I never poke around the forum, but for the first in my experience your network's staff is addressing this very professionally. Whilst I stay unaffected, your team is providing the utmost care in the player base by offering a world download for the few who still play these servers; Great decision and I respect your community for it.

 

We've always allowed world downloads for those who wanted them just a little touch to make it sting less

less and less best version of minecraft 1.7 modpack avaiable...

 

That argument was weird anyway. My 4.5 year old laptop runs any pack we have without issues.
At some point people will have to update their potatoes to keep up, that is valid for any game.

And while I like 1.7, I have come to appreciate some of the stuff never versions have to offer.

 

If you bought them less than two weeks ago, make a ticket with proof of purchase and we should be able to.

 

I Just dont like bulky ~200+ mods modpacks and there is no lite packs(po lite complete) and 1.12&1.14 packs are unplayable 4 me bc wierd bugs my graphic card causes with that versions, So most likely we wont See each other anytime soon i guess.
