he might not even have been killed. Might have just despawned due to mobcap limitations. Nametagging mobs does not guarantee they do not despawn.

Sadly your dog was killed by one of your basemates 3 days ago. We can not deal any punishment as they are trusted on your claim. You can get another dog by shift left clicking with 10 bones. Sorry about the loss of your dog.
