in order to advance to tier 4 and up you need to use the right of binding on a dimond sword and use it to get blood shards but it is imposable to do this because the tier 3 blood orb holds only 150000 which is no longer enoth LP to use the right of binding that normaly cost 5000 LP you need a teir 4 alter to make the master blood orb needed to make the rune of orb to up your LP any more then 150000. so the only players that can have a tier 4 or tier 5 alter are the ones that some how built it before the nerf unless this is fixed newer players or any one that has yet to start blood magic will be unable to make the tools for the mod let alone the armor. I found this gem of a nerf gone to far when trying to upgrade my alter I wondered at fist if it was limited by world at first and tried testing it that failed so I tried SP testing to see what it costs and found this.
Do you know what the new costs are for the binding ritual? Their are runes you can put into your alter to increase the capacity of your soul network. You do not require the sword to get weak blood shards... Their is another way! Go play with potions.
The runes don't increase your soul network, just the blood alters capacity And Scav you are able to make a blood orb with enough LP to activate the ritual of binding, i would like to point out that 150000 is a larger number than 5000, don't mean to be a smart ass or anything but your question solved itself.
@TheUnderTaker11 Please look into the rune of the orb. (Yes i realize that it requires a tier 4 orb to make, but it does increase the capacity of the soul network.)
I said that the normal cost was 5000 but due to the servers admins/devs 's setting the cost is far beyond 150000 meaning I can't hope to get any farther in this mod then tier 3 till the setting is changed or something is done to fix this. what potions can be used to get them? not one of them has any real offencive power nor do mobs drop the item when they die from them none of the potions as far as I can find can used to make them what am I missing here I would realy like to know heres some of the more useful links I have found. For the potion i think if you kill a monster with the weakness effect it has a chance of dropping a weak blood shard
tested that the potion inflicks normal weekness not the same state as the sword so that's a bust. the sword inflickts its own stat that shows up as weekness I know that the advanced spells can inflect this but those cost 1 minl + to cast in the first place and I would once agnen need blood shards to make them. just change the setting for the rites so that it is not imposable to do basic rites at teir 3. I don't care if it gets set 150000 as long as its a level that can be reaced
the bound sword inflicks its own moded stat that shows up as weekness it is not the same stat effect as stock weekness and no potions inflick it. the potion flasks form the mod infick stock weekness whitch makes them useless for this. there is a way to craft the blood shards but that takes 2 of them one made in to a master blood orb and one use in crafting more costing a slate from a teir 4 alter.
how does the mod author intend people to advance? its nothing I changed or can change. activation levels are not changeable.
@knoxz I think he is doing some thing wrong on the setup. @ScavArmyGen Please follow these steps... Delete the modpack and redownload With only the divination sigil in your inventory or hotbar, try to activate the ritual. If that does not work, please post the following screenshots... Mousing over the divination sigil Your soul network level The in gam message when you try to actival the ritual Your soul network level again.
it's not impossible to advance, just rediculously hard to do so, as you need to use the knife to near-death while the thing is infusing, you basically need to have some sort of regen thing to make the upper teir blood orbs to make those rituals, thats basically all thats hard in BM, oh and for the ritual use an activation crystal that's bound to you and place the ritual with a ritual diviner
I mached the setup for the ritual but can not cast it till after I use the master orb to get 25000 or more LP I have tested and retested this it is imposable to do at teir 3 and is needed for teir 4. at this point I am just going to traid for the item because I can not make it nor can any one that started blood magic after this happened. I feel insulted by some of the sites mods lack of testing on this and their acting like I have no idea what I am doing with blood magic when I tested the mod more then they can be bothered to,
I already got a Tier 5 altar. no need to ask him. I did built mine with the latest version we use. not sure what u are doing wrong.
@ScavArmyGen I make no assumptions about your knowledge of BloodMagic. I do know that the last time i tried it, t was very possible to get to tier five. I know my knowledge of the mod is beyond most others. A flask (from BM) that is put into the chemistry set with the most basic slate will result in a splash potion that gives the BM version of weakness. Mobs must have that weakness debuff to drop a weak blood shard. Weak blood shards are not a 100% drop from mobs. Use a weapon with looting to increase the drop rate. The mod is balanced for the in the respect that you need to be able to supply a steady stream of blood to the alter for the tier 4 orb. This is intentional from the mod author as a "gate" from early game to end game of the mod. Also, i cant get the images to open.
I have fixed my problem By triding for the bound sword. if that works grate seams its a far lower drop rate then with the sword because I have yet to see it work in testing. and I do not have any problems with supplying the alter I use mobs not my own health I am testing a way of automating it with dager instead of the well of suffering that way it gives 10x more blood per mob but for now I will kill them by hand it mite conflict with the protections plugin stoping automations form killing mobs seeing them as players.
