no i cannot use texturepacks without crashing: while reinstalling the pack ive noticed one that it downloads its own resource pack. could that be the issue?

x86 is the same as x64 if I'm right

 

Um.... no.

x86 refers to the instruction set in Intel processors. In the beginning, (i.e. back when normal people still used DOS) x86 was only a part of the designation. The full designation, and their ARE three of them, is x86-16, x86-32 & x86-64. Because Windows 3.1 was a 32bit operating system, the x86-32 was shortened down to x86 because people were to lazy to type it all out, and became common vernacular for 32bit operating systems.

Around that time Microsoft stopped the development and distribution of all x86-16 (16 bit) operating systems, so that designation while still valid is not commonly used.

So now we have two common designations for the instruction sets that software was programed to use, either x86 or x86-64. Again, people being lazy, this got shortened to just x64

So, now you know why x86 actually refers to 32 bit software and x64 refers to 64 bit software.

We intend to collaborate, but xkea may not be able to request whitelisting in time.
