On normal resolutions of 1080p it seems to be only at rates of 5-20% similar to a dual 980/295x -> of course there is the micro lag with multiple gpu's. In any way I still run +60 fps on all up to date games at 1080p 16:10 with the "old" sapphire 290 Vapor-X, which I got a year ago for ~350 and still costs about 300.

I paid $800 for the thing a few years ago and it would take a $500 card to better its performance. If you buy a high end videocard, it will usually last longer than your pc. This card was not babied, it crunched bitcoins 24/7 for a year and a half running at max temp and speed.
