Basically it sets the time for just your own island without changing it for the rest of the server, so you can make it so your island is at daytime whenever you want so you can just skip the night. Do /ptime day to set to day, /ptime night to set to night or you can do /ptime # were # is a number between 0 and 24000 to set to a specific time. One thing to bear in mind however is that certain mods that have time dependent features like the ritual for activating thr division sigil from extra utilities, are not coded to take notice of virtual time so for that you would have to do /ptime off to reset your time to match the servers time and then wait for the appropriate time as normal.
