Hey all, word of praise I want to kick off that i like what you guys done to the place. The pixelmon server really starts too feel pokemon-like. The safarizone is up and running and the 'feel' you get from that place comes really close the the original series, kudo's. battle tower That being said, isnt it nice to add some late game content like that spread across the map. Maybe stuff like battle towers where you have to defeat several levels of trainers. or maybe even wild pokemon. I hear a lot of people saying that its really hard to get some crucial items. This way rewards could be addressed to these bosses residing in the tower. leveling up Basically if you hit lvl 50 on your pokemon leveling starts to get harder. Which might be good or might be a bad experience depending on if you like to grind. But personally feel like we could fill those gaps with fun builds and trainer hubs with pokemon ranging from lvl 50 - 90. this might give players a more fluent level progress. Currently we have a handfull of trainers with lvl 100's and even less with a complete team. It might make the end game (player vs player battles) a bigger part of the server. I have no idea how programming intensive this might be. but it seemed like some cool ideas. I am aware you need a lot of creative builders, and i am not sure if there are people up to it.
Hey, thank you for the kind words, glad to hear that you're having fun Battle tower is definitely something we could, but you wanted this NPC only or maybe an area where Players can set up their own part too? Maybe we can use the Battle tower as a leveling system for players, where it progressively gets harder in terms of, adding wild Pokemon higher up the floors? Maybe adding rewards to the battle tower, so that players can feel "achieved" by completing? Tell me what you think about these suggestions for the tower > Moved to Suggestions & Feedback
I think setting up something pre defined is better then let players having influence in it. Things tend to get competitive fairly quick is my opinion. And having that competition is good in pokemon battles but brings hassle in other aspects is my experience. But what i have in mind for a battle tower can be either: 1.something where you have to beat trainers before you progress to the next level and have a reward on the end. a. 50% chance common loot, 20% chance rare loot, 10% chance epic loot, etc etc 2.something like lavender town tower (the one where you beat marowak, cubones momma) where there is just a experience of wild pokemon and freaky trainers and yeah definitely add rewards. everyone loves rewards.
I would rather set it up to be a level bracket per floor, make it a large building ( or a few of them scattered around) each floor would have a few trainers for the specified level of the area, maybe we could have some towers be battle towers and others be item/ev training towers these would have pokemon in them.
You should definatly try to find a way to make you have to pay a certain amount for a certain amount of battles that way it is something that has to be payed for. Or maybe a timelimit
I could do it like the safari zone, make it a region that cant be walked into, id rather get a world for these things though. we could set it up with all the towers in a circle 10 around 1 in the middle, the middle one is trainers that goes from lvl 1-100 on 10 floors (5 fights each) the outer towers would be 1 tower per power level 1-100 with pixelmon spawns... also 10 levels each tower ( types per level maybe...?). Or do it the other way with each outer tower being a type, with floors for power range changes.
If you put level brackets 1-100 in the same zone, you will have all the server players in the same 50 chunks or so. That actually could be really cool if you put a battle arena in the middle! Although i am not sure if the server likes such a high activity rate in one place. I still like the idea of battletowers being scattererd around the normal map too though. you can have a type per biome and make the architecture of the tower fit in the biome. You could have like lighthouse tower with a dragonair boss on the edge of a cliff, A burned tower with magmars ratata's and koffin's, A battleboat like veridian city. Like that it makes the hunt fun and you could find em back using waypoints.
I 'm all in for Enormous Dragonites*. Though I wish it didn't cost money. Atm Im having to get up at 4 am to train on Lugias .-. In the games, the restraunts, towers, and boats didn't cost money. You just had to get to a certain point in the game. Maybe getting a mewtwo, then trading to to a Professer Elm type character, and getting a pass to all these places would be suitable?[DOUBLEPOST=1434474265][/DOUBLEPOST]Edit* And make legendaries non-tradable if possible. Unless of course you are trading a legendary to someone who has already caught said legendary
Its a mod mechanic The server would have to turn the spawn rates down to 0.5% for it not to work xD. And Sure, I have to get my team to lvl 80+
I am all for a battle-tower type thing, it costing money would be a bad idea IMHO, like Thatonepurplecat said, in the games it did not cost money, but you had to get to a certain game point. i am not dor the idea of having to trade a mewtwo, maybe any legendary or a level 75 or something.
Maybe we could do like zones as @Mijikai said, each floor have wild pokemons amd a diferent thematic. To go throught the floors you have to beat the diferent puzzles or defeating a quantity of pokemons. The floors lvl will be increased by five on each plant, reaching the lvl 95. In the last floor it could be an especial reward or something. This sure you already know but my main idea was to do diferent thematic as O said above. For example a Nether floor, jungle floor or a stronghold floor.
Unfortunately if it didn't cost money, the economy wouldn't grow. It would just be people with large pockets of cash. The way it would work is, is that you would pay something like 500MyM's to enter, that way it's not too expensive, it's not too cheap. @Arreme2000 I think a biome based battle tower would be an amazing idea, and that's something I'm going to work on soon, thank you for the suggestion
