Hey guys, since you're running a custom Launcher for your server I keep asking myself if you could add Plugins as well. As example, Carpenters Blocks. This Plugin is already included in the Horizon Pack, and adds freaking nice possiblites in Base-Designs. If you want to see an example what is possible with it:
While it is easily possible to add extra mods to a modpack thanks to the MyM launcher, the moment we do it, we would be forced to no longer support the FTB launcher (since users who want to still use the FTB launcher would have to manually download and install the additional mods), which we want to avoid for as long as possible since a significant proportion of our users still use the FTB launcher.
Oh, didn't know you can use the classic FTB-Launcher, I got crashes when I tried to. I assumed that the Launcher is mandatory to play on this Server.
True that, this, and the fact that I miss Gregtech so much, made me switch to TPPI now... If there is an update I may come back to this, since there are some interesting mods as well.
Having the mod pack also work with people using FTB is very helpful for getting new players. I came here first with the monster pack on FTB. The decision to only use client mods is good.
and to this i will say this, for some peoples computers the MYM launcher doesn't work either, so that makes it harder for people to get the "new" mods that you guys COULD add if you wanted
i think u need to get the mod authors permission to use it in a public pack. most mods need wtf it says im greece when im norwegian sems legit
People also use the FTB launcher. Therefore if you add any mods to the existing packs everyone would need the mym launcher. You also need mod author permissions because you are adding it to a pack that is public. Just my thoughts, YourMCGeek Future Horizons Moderator
BTW: if you like Carpentry Blocks, check out the existing Mariculture Sawmill, can do some of the custom texturing of blocks, stairs, slabs and carpet.
