Done Auto Startup/Complaints

You guys really need either more staff to watch for the servers going down and them being able to have it reset. or You need to code an Auto Startup. Basically the program reads the server, and it's uptime so that when it goes down it can automatically restart the server manually. because from what I can see Vanilla Plus has been down 13 hours, Thats basically you guys throwing server money away because it's being ran on a server box taking money while you can't even make any off the server. (and when it comes to Java crashes with the server it will need to be manually reset I believe.)

(Yes you guys have like 500 servers, But not everyone can play the higher packs. The other packs deserve just as much attention as the servers with all your staff. it's very rare to come by staff in Vanilla plus, and there are always x-ray's on that server as well.)

There are a lot of issue's you guys are missing because there is never any staff on Vanilla plus. And any of the staff i've even see isn't mature enough to even be a staff... or at least don't act anything like they care for their job. Cause they don't help to save a life in Vanilla plus. The players are more help then the staff and thats a sad thing on your guys part. Because it leads back to more mature and older people quitting because of the age restriction on your staff.

I know running a server this big can be extremely stressful, I understand that, but you took it upon yourself to start these many servers, so it's up to you guys to handle them. That requires work, hiring staff, hours of reading applications, etc. I've done it all on a server just a little smaller then this. and I ran Applications, and the whole staff alone. All out staff were mature, we always communicated, and knew everything going on with the server.

You guys might be young but you all have a lot of potential. Im not very old myself, but when it comes to running something or being a leader, thats what I do best. Just think about this.

There is auto startup code, and the staff just don't like to play vanilla +, their volunteers, you can't force them to do anything because they'll quit if you try, trust me, this is one of the largest minecraft server networks, (easily the most popular modded network for sure tbh) and the admins aren't watching console 24/7 for when the auto startup fails, any more complaints you may post you know

 

All our servers already do have an auto restart behind them, When a server crashes or other similar things it will get autobooted, the problem we keep having lately is that they are vanishing from the autoboot and therefore needing a manual boot. All the admins also have the server status up but the other problem lately has been that its not notifying us of when a server is down, meaning we get incedents like these when a server is down for a long time but admins are unaware because the server status page isnt shouting at us.[DOUBLEPOST=1440783272][/DOUBLEPOST]The server has been kicked now and is back up though, sorry for the delay

 

You're very right I did take all that into consideration before writing this, and well if they don't have staff they need to find someone willing to do it. I'd offer myself, but I don't have all the time to stay here. I spend a good 3-9 hours a day in vanilla plus when I can. and Chugga the issue is last time I had to make a post about the vanilla plus it was down for 2 days, and before that almost 4 days. They don't check vanilla plus at all really. and if they don't then their no purpose to have it as a server. because the chance of them getting any more players on vanilla plus that would want to donate won't be there. just because the server isn't cared for. Vanilla plus has probably the nicest set of players just because it's not big. and that's what makes us who play it want to play it more. but it sucks when their are cheaters, and not enough attention for the server.[DOUBLEPOST=1440783505][/DOUBLEPOST]

Okay well thank you, no reason to apologize, I understand the stress you guys have to deal with and im sorry for adding on. I really appreicate the quick reply and fix.

I find it hard to have a positive discussion when you've already made up you mind. We care about all of our servers. We try to give them all the same level attention. As Benny has already stated, we switched our server wrapper software over and still working out the bugs. The first thing I try to do when I get home from work is to check the server status page, tickets, and forums. I dedicated a tremendous amount of time to this network and it's players...to speak nothing of the other staff. Instead of complaining, let's try to work toward something positive. If you notice a server down a quick forum post or ticket is the fastest way to get staff on top of it.
