As an old Forum admin on different sites I rather see Necro posts than a brand new topic if the original topic isn't done being discussed or resolved by the OP. It helps keep the amount of topics I would have to moderate to a minimum. If I see a Necro post all I have to do is check who and wh it was revived. Considering OP Necro'ed it then she obviously didn't feel it was resolved completely. As for the ago of the post and the act of Necro'ing I only have one word "life". Just my two cents. .... Oh and I am responsible for this since I was talking to Lady about the Demi-goddess rank.[DOUBLEPOST=1451429966,1451429118][/DOUBLEPOST]I took the liberty of copying the ranks down and giving my take on if a rank is Gender Neutral or not. Please fel free to edit or share your thoughts about it: Lost Soul - Gender Neutral (GN for short) Refugee - GN Servant - Maid (not Maid Servant redundent) Miner - GN Field Worker - GN Day Laborar - GN Hunter - Huntress Jester - GN Smith - GN Farmer - GN Alchemist - GN Viking - Shieldmaiden (Suggested by Mijikai) Technician - GN Knight - GN (though Dame could work) Scientist - GN Demon Hunter - Demon Huntress Shadow Master - GN Strategist - GN Chief Engineer - GN Necromancer - GN Professor - GN Warlock - Witch Lord - Lady Duke - Duchess King - Queen Saint - GN Prophet - GN Emperor - Empress Titan - GN Demigod - DemiGoddess (not in game yet) Immortal - GN
Thanks for your input and the list consolidation! However, I will say that I have always been led to believe (and at least some of Google supports my perspective) that "Demigod" is Gender Neutral. For the purpose of a title, it also seems to be a little more concise. I really do like Shieldmaiden as a fem. Viking though!
List of demigods - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia There are females on this list. I dont think i ever heard a female for Demigod... other than Demigod.
Am i reading it wrong? Demigod mostly referred to as a male Meaning Demigod is a male term. I am so confused.
Mhm, considering Demigod isn't just a word for mythology, it's also used for: "a former juvenile delinquent who would become a counterculture demigod" Just seems to be a masculine word mostly I suppose, but you're right, there are females on that Wiki-page ^^
Well and then, we can over-complicate the issue by saying grammatically speaking, "Demigod" would also be the plural for both male and female, just as "actors" is plural for more than one actor or actress.
Seeing as how "immortal" is the next rank, I expect that the intended definition of the "demigod" rank is "a being with partial or lesser divine status, such as a minor deity, the offspring of a god and a mortal, or a mortal raised to divine rank." Which is GN. And even the other definition (if you use an actual dictionary, and not googles default) is " a person so outstanding as to seem to approach the divine <the demigods of jazz> " A person. not just a "man" as the previous definition stated. That being said I do agree that Female variants should be added to all the other roles if the name isnt GN (If they havent already). But I do see Demigod as being GN. (Personal Opinion, not going to kill anyone if "DemiGoddess" gets added, lol)
