    Hmm, I'm pretty sure they break nearly all blocks in minecraft vanilla and I'm not aware of a wither overhaul mod most packs have?

    hmm, could be multiple things. make sure the graphics card driver is up to date, if it is a laptop make sure it uses the dedicated graphics card...
