so as you know it's not possible for normal players to tag staff, and many players want to Beable to help out with issues more but don't have the time to dedicate to joining the staff. but what if there was some sort of 'helpful player' position that you can earn so that the helpful forum ninjas could use @moderator for support problems that need staff help. Just to help get them done faster and more efficiently. And of course if it was misused it would be taken away from that player. Am I Even capable of thinking of suggestions that are possible?
Has been suggested many different ways and would either be another not needed rank or too much work. Although maybe a tag that alerts staff such as @moderator available to all
Although this does sound like an amazing idea, there are a few thing that could go wrong. First of all it is just one more thing for A) people to abuse and B) staff to moderate and control. not to mention sometimes people make mistakes and that would just cause a even larger backlog with what staff needs to do. Again, tho is a good idea, but it is more work than what it's worth.[DOUBLEPOST=1478791058][/DOUBLEPOST] We used to have that available to all and people just spammed it and I think that's why they removed it.
Yeah but it wouldn't it be nice if you could tell without even looking which posts require staff to help and which may not so that you can prioritize those ones then go on to the normal problems? Besides it would make players like me feel more helpful
Most staff have that counter constantly at zero. We read the forums as something to do, as well as trying to help people out. As far as I know it hasn't really been a problem. There's always the ticket system which will get a direct connection to moderators if the need arises, and we encourage the use of it if possible. But for those times when a ticket can't be made, Staff have got it handled pretty well
O well no feeling helpful for me i guess But while I'm here one last question What's up when this happens, my guess is private messages or posts like ban appeals that I can't see, but is there a way to stop it? -now it says 3
Click View All Recent Posts and then Mark Forums Read. It's probably from Ban Appeals, or from Applications. But members can still help, for example when you see someone saying that he crashes every time he logs in and doesn't include a crash-report, you can ask to him do to so.
I just set it so the new posts tab will ignore posts from ban appeals, private bug reports, private complaints, and job apps, we will see if that works. Anyway you can mark this as decided against if you like since I can't do it to my own thread *cough cough*
If it is a major issue and no staff has had the time to look into it yet you could always send a forum message, slack message or even contact a staff member on teamspeak, There are many ways of contacting staff to get major issues taken care of. Sometimes I see something as simple as a grief case and right below or above it would be a crash issue. Of course I will work the crash issues first as it is more important to myself at the time. Not saying that grief cases are not important but it would be more important to get the servers running correctly then returning griefed items. Best way is always to contact staff as suggested and I am sure if no Admin is around atm a Moderator+ would be able to assist or get someone that can assist.
