AE2 seeds have tooltip that says they won't despawn but they despawn when server restarts. I have lost a big amount of seeds this way.
Would it be possible to fix this problem somehow? The tooltip misleads players and pure crystals cannot be made without hours of guarding the seeds and protecting them from server restart.
I am aware that there is a way using empowerer but both ways of making pure crystals should be available.

I've had a similar problem with wolves and horses a while ago in Infinity.

I'm not sure if that is possible, and if so I don't know. Since server reboots remove all entities. Try and pick them up before it reboots and place them down again, it's an inconvience but it's the only option at this time.

It's the first time I see something like that on a server. Normally everything would be saved and restored after the restart.

In my knowledge this server strives for lagfree so that's probably why we remove all the entities that others don't remove in the farmworkers and all the other dimensions.

Do all items despawn after a restart or only the seeds?

This happens in all dimensions, not just the "farmworkers".

Sorry I was in a hurry that was a typo. I meant farmworlds. It's a serverwide restart so all entities should be removed. I could be wrong. But the server I own does that.

    Cauldron?

Edit: Also, this is really the worst in modpacks that include fluid cows and/or chickens.

I think that I know how to fix it.
The problem doesn't seem to affect unloaded chunks, so a few secounds before the server restarts:
    1. kick everyone
    2. stop chunk loaders
    3. unload all chunks a few times

If you log out at the thirty second warning it doesn't eat your seeds either, at least not during my testing :)

That assumes that there's nobody else who happens to be in range to load the seed-containing chunk at the time of restart.

Crystal Growth accelerators exist for a reason. They should always be the first thing you craft in AE2. They allow you to mature crystal seeds in about a minute if you have 4 surrounding a block. As long as you use common sense when growing the seeds you should have no further issues.

Edit: Using this method means you need to craft 4 pure fluix in the empowerer first to make an ME controller. but at 40Mil RF as a startup cost that's a real bargain. especially when considering the cost of things like ET solars. (100 Restonia empowered blocks 8 palis empowered 4 diamantine empowered (550 mil RF ish) for a T2 panel)

    Good Luck.

in PO2 you could simply make fluix from magical crops
