Right now, once of the most frustrating parts for a new person who's starting out in AG2 is the lack of rain. Rain is needed on some maps to even get a cobble-gen running. Without any water, the game gets very boring very fast. The rain-maker is given to you as a quest reward, but it is current banned. (Unplaceable)

I'm proposing a 1x1 shapeless crafting recipe to convert the rain-maker into a (Forestry) water can. This (along with the missions) would be enough to start without rain:

    1) Use the first rain-maker to get a barrel of water.
    2) Use the clay reward to get a bucket.
    3) Place water
    4) Using the glass bottle trick to get the second bucket of water.

I'm sure many people won't use up using this recipe, but it would help someone who's totally stuck.

Edit: Since there seems to be some confusion, I'll clarify. I'm talking about the "Water Can" which is a forestry item that acts like a single-use bucket. Please don't confuse this with the "Watering Can" which makes plants grow faster.

Interesting idea, but i think a better idea would be creating a water source block. It means u can start farming and such which was the intention of the rain maker.

I find that server admins don't often give out creative-only items (like source blocks) but that would work too.

Giving you a watering can is kind of overpowered. If it made a water bottle, though, that could work.

I was thinking that maybe the admins could at some point trade items for rainmakers (I've collected a few :) ) so that the player can choose what exactly they want, or perhaps reward bags (Even just basic would be helpful).

Not a watering can. I'm talking about a "Can of water" from Forestry. It's like a single-use bucket full of water.

It can be right-clicked onto an Ex Nahilo barrel to fill the barrel. (Consuming the item) This simulates rain filling the barrel. It's not as good as real rain (which could fill several barrels) but it's better than no water.

That would be completely acceptable, although to do this with a custom recipe would require you to do /mtload on client start like regrowth. This is based that there are custom recipes added into ag2 as I am not sure as I only go off nei anyway. They could add a command block setup at spawn easy but it would require going to spawn and stepping on a pressure plate ect... It wouldnt be hard, especially as you can have the banned txt that pops up in chat say

This is why I wanted it to be a trade.

Well for the second part is what I thought for trading in, just a implementation that is automated and easy to make
The command block basically being check @p item -----Comparator on it to---> give @p item & another command removing the item (cant remember that command for 1.7)
(been a little bit since ive used command blocks, but that should be everything needed for it)

I had thought that MyM was customizing the pack before it reached the launcher. That would take care of the recipe problem, but honestly, I don't really care if it's a trade or recipe. It just needs to be a way to exchange he item.
