Arc's Masterthread of Suggestions

1) - Rehaul the chat filter so it filters words that are "slurs" and less words such as "crap". I understand that even for some audiences that "crap" & "stupid" is an issue, but I've also got in quite a lot of trouble for saying "crap" and someone suspecting me of something much worse.

2) - Karoake TeamSpeak weekend events. You've been looking for event idea's and the TS group is an older neglected group that I feel could be quite good with a monthly staff moderated karaoke. It'd require a bit of work, but some could just come to laugh and others would be able to sing. I think it'd be a great staff-playerbase bonding idea.

3) - Am I the only one who can't find the slack invite link? I'd like to see it under a thread such as "Useful links" or on a wiki page.

4) - More work on the wiki, maybe contact several more knowledgeable players/staff members to oversee & open it for public hayday, with those members correcting mistakes/checking formatting before pushing it to the GitHub or a staff member is in place to monitor it, field it out to the general public we would like well-written following proper format wiki pushes. Give them a forum award if they do good work.

5) - Publicize BoneMeAl, I mean if it's going to exist, it might as well be public knowledge. Once again Wiki or a Thread of useful links. It's public if you have the link, but nobody besides staff & senior members seems to have it.

6) - Not sure what the "follower/friend" option does besides beside a cosmetic. I'm talking about the forums, yes. I'd like to see you get an alert whenever a "followed" comments/posts, with the option to disable both.

7) - Any server with an event on it doesn't give donor kits until the event is over. Clean cut & fair.

5) broken waiting on new solution
7) donors didnt have unfair and we have done events without donor perks and it had so many complainants

 

2 is just i dont even have words to describe how hard i laughed when i read that

There are words such as "idiot" on the filter tho, seriously how & why is it not allowed to describe people, "stupid" and "idiot" are both filtered, so are every other word that is possible to use for describing someone else like that, maybe dumb but that doesn't carry much if any weight with it

 

Why do you need to call people that?

 

I generally use it to describe a setup, for example, if you have an AE2 press setup that is SUPER spaced out, why would have a setup that can be done in a 2x3z2 be done in a 20x10x4 area (legit setup I've seen), that's stupid, expressing that it's not merely dumb, it's a stronger word than dumb, for the same meaning

 

I invented some examples of non-offensive use of these words:
• Man, I know how to change controls, I'm not an idiot. xD
• I found a village made out of dirt. Noob villagers?
• I'm so stupid lol. I tried to use a >>>pneumatic<<< servo to extract items from a chest.
• The way converting mob essence into XP works is so stupid. You need to spend all day to go to level 30. And you can't automate this!
And some not necesarly non-offensive ones that still make no sence to be filtered out:
• Using BC pipes is so stupid. These things are killing TPS like crazy!
• You look like an idiot in these pink leather boots

 

There are a few more that you could use such as -
- OMG I just did this entire set up wrong! I am such an idiot sometimes!
- My god, isn't the way that IC2 works stupid at times! Like why make a nuclear reactor when to get it to a safe version it only outputs ####Eu/T
- Why didn't I think of that! My god was I stupid.. now to replace 20k blocks..

 

About bonemeal, to be honest, I don't like that it is public at all. People shouldn't get judged by other player just because they did some things in the past. I totally dislike this kind of pillory.

 

I couldn't agree more but it was decided that people should be able to see there Base mates past

 

I'd prefer to know if a future basemate is a griefer or whatever. In America your crimes are public record.
