It's going to be a big secret military/science labs facility, located right in the middle of nowhere on the BTP server. The surface buildings are just a bunch of military bases, roads, watchtowers and fences, the important parts are going to be underground. The general building style should be modern, but not futuristic. Expect to use a lot of chisel factory blocks. This is a list of the planned sections. Note that a lot of these only exist in order to look cool. Sector A: Control This is the brain of the facility. The section features the mission control room (a lot of screens and access to all computers in the area) and the applied energistics core. Free space is going to be filled with offices and conference rooms. Sector B: Research This is actually a group of sectors, containing various laboratories. I don't have a complete list of what's needed in there yet, but here are some parts: Workshop (TiC, manual machines which fit nowhere else) Nuclear Labs Biolabs (Cosmetic, a bunch of caged mobs and stuff like that) Redstone/Computers (Toy room) Laboratories with dangerous content (Eg. radioactive) should not be accessible without proper protective clothing. Sector C: Factory Everything that will run automated. Should not require surveillance, but should still look nice. Sector D: Energy This is the heart of the facility. Various kinds of reactors to create the necessairy power. Should also be built for the looks, not just for function. A good example of my intention with this can be found in my fusion reactor build on TPPI (even though that one was a bit small ). Sector E: Living This is where the personnel will live, sleep and eat. Located close to the surface, so there are some windows. Purely cosmetic. Sector F: Rocket labs A rocket launch system (Galacticraft). We'll also build a big space station and moon/mars bases. Sector G: Teleportation labs This is where all kinds of portals to farming worlds and outer departments are located. Teleportation to other points inside the facility is NOT planned (Except for demonstration purpose). The surface constructions include an airfield and a harbour, as well as a bunch of military camps. The underground constructions will also include decomissioned areas, long tunnels, storage hallways full of containers, waste processing and otehr useless but nice looking stuff. In general, every part of the facility must be reachable by foot. As this might take very long for some places, we're going to build a railway system connecting the sectors. I'm planning to use railcraft's electric locomotives for this. Most lines should run relatively direct, but we'll also build a showcase line for visitors, with effects like doors opening/closing, big elevators and stuff like that (Remember half life?). All rooms are secured by an identity check, sometimes also by security locks. This does not mean I don't trust my team members, it's just because stuff like this adds to the overall environment experience. Speaking of team members: As this is going to be a really big project, I won't be able to pull this though alone. Below is a list of current team members and their respective jobs (will be updated): @Xfel11: CEO, general planning and layout, transport system (minecarts), computer systems @mpmxyz: efficient machine designs, computer systems The following jobs are currently open (we need more than one person for each, obviously): Builder: You'll design and build the cosmetic parts of the facility. When applying, please post some pictures of stuff you built before. Design is generally free, but it should fit the theme (so no middle age castles) Mod Expert: Your concrete job depends on the mod we're talking about. So please tell us which mods you know about. When building machines/automatitions, remember that they should not only work, but also look nice. Space is not a problem. Please write your application in this thread. Id think I really would like to a be a part of this, unfortunately I dont think you would be pleased at all with my ontime on this project, as I have barely started on my own base, and, atleast imo, i absolutely suck at building
Hello Xfel. I would love to be a part of the project you are hosting. The roles i am intrested in, or help with is the following. Builder: I got the basics of the builder skills, my greatest work are probably my base at bevo. It is not finished yet and looks a bit too messy (photos added) Automater/doing mods: My main mods are AE2, extra utils, Thermal expansion, IC2 and i also know mekanism, ticon, thaumcraft fairly well. wait, we are just talking about an own modpack for 1.7.10. i volunteered to make the pack and balance it. the general idea is a space progression modpack where u have to travel to nether, end, moon, mars and asteroids to get resources to for tech tiers which are further down the line.
Yes the travel to space thing sound quite cool. But i think it is bad to force someone into a mod, not everyone wants to progress in galacticraft just to get a ME system or a quarry. I agree with you that the digital miner from metallurgy is really op, but you dont have to make it. That is something you choose on your own. If you want to take the easy rout or an hard routh without using it.
If Im understanding this, dont you know that we have a 1.7 modpack already? Bevos Tech Pack, sorry if its a mistake, but i got the impression you thought xfel wanted to do this on a completely new modpack
well bevo is a testpack, i'm not quite sure if it stays, because it's not that popular. i am currently developing a pack quite similar to modsauce, but with space progress. like u have to travel to the moon to get items for machine frames.
Knoxz what about ancient ruins where you can find all source of tech depending in what planet you are n_n
