An island partner of mine on node 2 recently changed the biome in a specific chunk to taiga how ever, when it rains it doesn't turn in to snow it just stays rain. Originally we thought we'd have to wait for a restart for it to update but still nothing has happened.
I've double checked and it does say the biome is indeed taiga.[DOUBLEPOST=1478390646,1478373258][/DOUBLEPOST] Just found out it turns in to snow at y: 130+
