I logged in today and chunkloading has been removed. There is no news post regarding it, and noone on the server seems to know why. It's pretty frustrating, especially with zero transparency regarding it. Is there anyone with knowledge regarding it that could fill us in a little bit? I had weeks worth of tickets bought and it seems like a waste of all that time spent voting and working on the server to have the main benefit removed without any word on the matter. Thank you.
1) tickets are global so no one removed your tickets or devalued your votes. This is a strawman meant to incite. 2) it could be a bug or something preventing chunk loaders from working. Or maybe someone's island is Chuck loaded and crashing the server. Did you try re placing the chunk loader or asking in a simple support request before blowing up?
1. I'm not trying to incite anything; simply garner an explanation. These other players came on their own volition due to the problem they are having as well. Obviously they wouldn't be here if it was just me, so blaming me and assuming I'm making a mistake is flabbergasting, considering multiple players are having the same issue. These are the support forums, I came here to get support, not receive a condescending response. Other players simply noticed the same issue and came here to try to find out why. I only play currently on Skyfactory 2, so I've yet to be on another server to understand that this was the way things worked with voting; had no clue they were global; besides, I play here for Skyfactory 2, so if I am having a problem with Skyfactory 2, I could care less about the interaction with the other servers; again, we are on the Skyfactory 2 support page. 2. Perhaps, but the solution would be to remove the chunkloaders from their island, not from everyone. That would make sense. The crashes don't come from the chunkloaders themselves, just the things being chunkloaded if that was the case. Obviously the real answer is that you have no idea what the problem is and you're just spouting every possibility you can think of; even if it means blaming the player who has spent 9 in-game days playing on this particular server and obviously knows when something is not normal. My request was for someone who knew what the problem was and could assist in transparency regarding it. My request still stands.
hey the chunk loader plugin was disabled. Most of the times it gets temporary disabled to fix a bug or a crash etc so the server stops with the crash loop. Seems like cause of some circumstances the plugin wasnt reenabled. im going to reenable it now and see if its producin issues if yes i need to fix it gonna let u know how it worked out
I appreciate it. Thank you for the appropriate response and lack of condescension. I'll let the other players know that it's being looked into. I am one of the more active players on the server, so I prefer to act as a spokesperson for issues that everyone seems to be facing; I wasn't trying to incite any sort of overwhelming response from the players on the server; so the facetious response I got earlier from Lucid was frustrating, but I'm very happy that another staff member has looked into it and hopefully it gets fixed.[DOUBLEPOST=1462795269][/DOUBLEPOST]It seems to be working as intended. Thank you @Werwolfi_de .
considering the chunkloaders they are working again. Second even if you think lucid might have responded a bit harsh you have to know we are all volunteers here. Some things can bug out or crash or produce some issues. its a community project why would we remove stuff without any announcements? Reading a support request in which you blame stuff to have done something isnt nice for us. We are trying our best and perhaps next time you just write all the informations you can gather for example. since when the loaders arent working anymore, what happened before, tried to replace it? etc that would help more instead of blaming us to ruin your gameplay. I can totally understand your both points of view (lucid and dooble). i hope this problem is now solved. Wish you all a nice day
I'm sorry this was my fault. There is/was a ender io redstone conduit at a unknown location which did freeze the server directly on startup. The only way to get the server back up was doing a global rollback, removing ender io (would delete all loaded ender io items/blocks in the worlds) or chunk loaders temporary. I decided that removing chunk loaders temporary would be the solution with the least annoying results. I wanted the chunk loaders to be disabled for 30-60 minutes to hope that the unknown player loads his base and I get a location of the issue. Unfortunately I completely forgot about the disabled chunk loaders as there appeared another issue on a different server. I apologize for the inconvenience and do my best to not do the same mistake again.
Actually if you re read it that's exactly how you came off. However I still asked Werewolf to look at it since he was able while I was headed to work. I asked simple valid questions in an effort to determine and isolate the problem at a time when I was unable to directly assist.
