    Should we regulate / punish logging out during PvP?

    Refraining from vote for a bit, just wish to note that punishment for logging out during PvP would also be punishment for a poor internet connection or PC, if you get randomly DC'ed.

    This would not. We can tell if logout or dropped connection.

    What about in situations where the player is kicked due to an error, for example the kicks to menu due to general java-ey issues?

    Ah, good. The griefprevention plugin's built-in anti-pvp-logging just kills you if you leave at all during combat.

    As demonstrated by @BlazeFTB a few minutes ago, when he was kicked after hitting somebody with his power fist and insta-died.

    Why punish someone for pvp logging from a server that is not focused on being a pvp server? It would seem as if that provides an option for someone who wants to play without PvP, on a server that, in the rules, seems to indicate that it is not focused on PvP.

    Assume that it is sitting over your shoulder watching what you do. While I'm sure their might be was to game the system, they will be few and far between.

    I don't like this idea even a bit. I keep often being disconnected because of InternalJavaSomething or sometimes it just lags and then say Disconnected from Server. I think that later is caused by my bad connection.

    The problem is that someone can just turn off wi-fi and he will instantly lose connection. It is literally press of one button. It is impossible to know then if someone disconnected because he wanted or because his internet went down (My internet goes down very often).

    If you exclude disconnecting because of internet "problems" from the logging out rule, players may start to abuse it (turning off wi-fi).

    If you include disconnecting because of internet "problems" to punishable logging out, then you may as well as give me ban (or other punisment) right here.


    And another thing. Is it ok to log out from PvP if you have the worst ping? If someone has that bad ping there is nothing he can do except logging out or getting killed while he is defenseless. Or is it ok to log out if you experience massive FPS lag? You are defenseless too.

    I think that this problem above could be solved by balancing FPS and ping between players, so if I am fighting someone, then both me and other player will get the worse ping and FPS from us two. This way players won't get discriminated in fights because of their computers nor because of their connection. And this would mean that even if I have extreme lag and bad ping, I won't log out because the other player will get it too and it would be "fair" fight.

    do not regulate pvp logging until we fix the kick to menu with the flans guns and the power fist inside claims. i got kicked because of my powerfist and insta died twice. once was on another claim and the other was on my own claim.

    I would be all for the idea if it was not inside of a modded environment. That being said tons of mods could cause you to crash for no reason in the middle of fights or other cases were its out of your control (java failing etc.) And I could see people maybe abusing this and making systems to crash people and collect there items (if an item is known for crashing people)?

    I have saw people on other modded community's drop an item in the middle of a fight and when the other picks it up they crash. :/

    So, disconnecting from the server other way won't be punished?
    And can it monitor my ping and FPS? Because if I have extremely bad ping or FPS there is no point in not logging out. You are defenseless while you have bad ping or bad FPS. Other player can just punch you to death before you even move (Happens with zombies nearly every day, my game just freeze and then I am instantly dead).

    If u fix this u should also fix the the return home charm when people are pvp'ing because they can easily flee when they attack u at your base with that item.
