This is just a suggestion so here goes.. As the title says, i think it should be possible for the server to clear unwanted items from the ground besides letting it de-spawn after 5 mins. Some people just like to go mining and leaving all the cobble or "useless" items around (and yes i admit i did that during a huge mining exploration with my tinkers' hammer). This might be able to help with the TPS for most players playing in all the modpacks. Thanks.
Dropped items don't have much of an impact on server performance and the server clearing them can be extremelly annoying, especially on modded server due to items like the AE2 crystals.
you can delist ae2 crystals and other items from the deleting list in that mod. just takes some config skills and it will help out the server alot imo.
Clearing items leads to more problems than it solves. In the event they effect server performance we can remove them, but as Rohen stated it takes a lot more than someone mining and leaving their garbage behind before it will effect the server.
