So while I was staff there was a slack channel for when a server crashes, I was wondering if this could also be integrated into the public version of the MyM slack. The main reason is that possibly if a player is already there they may/may not be able to help. Obviously if it IS a staff only issue that only they can solve it would be left, but it is mainly to keep players updated on what the reason is that their server crashed and how to fix it.
If this were to be implemented I would ask that it be a closed chat meaning that no one would be able to comment on it by accident etc.
    Opinions Welcome :)

The most players don't know how to read the crash reports and if they know they can't anything. So I don't think it is needed.

for the most part i dont really see it be used a lot since players know if the server crashes most of the time since there was no warning. and for the people that can read crash reports it can just worry them if the problem is really big.

I have to agree with SirWill when he say that most players don't know how to read the crash reports. But there is others players that know and let's imagine: ferret business crash, someone go to mym-community and check what crashed, when the server is online again he can tell what crashed the server and tell everyone, and if crash multiple times talk with admin about that.
And I see a bad point here too, if someone knows read and it's on the server just to troll and do bad things, he can see what is crashing and use that to keep crashing the server.

If that doesn't make sense, sorry I'll fix tomorrow.

makes sence to me.. i like this idea but i agree that it has potential to be used to intentally cause crashes.. however i HOPE the mym community is better than that.

I see it causing more issues. Player A reads it and thinks he understands that Player B is causing the crashes. This starts a fight in chat when really it was Player C. Also there is a lot of info in crash reports that people don't need to know about ;)

Maybe instead of posting the crash-report it just lets the people know the server is crashed?
Then they can understand if it timeing out for crashing as usally we get players that say the server has crashed when its only them who has lost connection?

I understand somethings aren't for public eyes, but possibly as chet has mentioned, a more simplified version of such a thing, simply saying "FB has crashed" to save a sudden flood of players in #support saying
"ARRRRR (insert server here) HAS CRASHED?!?!" where in actual fact it may have timed out or could be a client side issue..

There really is no point. It wouldn't have helped today at all as the servers weren't crashing.

Hmm is there a slack plugin to show updates on stats of servers, as, to my knowledge, WatchDog wasnt informing anyone that servers were down.
