IC2 contains one of the most stupid mechanic in all mods ever: random destruction of machines when dismounting, reverting them to Basic Machine Casing. I know there's Electric Wrench in "Safe mode" that guarantees dismounting IC2 machines, however machines themselves are easily breakable with any other tool, by accident. Now, considering how hard some of recipes have become on Infinity Evolved Skyblock, I'd vote for disabling this stupid mechanic. What do you think?
the issue i see with this is do we stick to what FTB wanted the pack to be or do we change it to better suit the MyM player base? (i mean configs/recipes btw) this sort of thing would be better going straight to FTB as personally i do not believe as a server company MyM should be changing packs configs/recipes unless it is needed to keep the server stable or is a issue caused by the server set up / ban list or it is needed for another reason.
configs are created by the mod authors so that player COULD edit them to change small playble factors. FTB isn't the author of IC2 either, and can't change anything other than the configs, just as the MyM hierarchy does. I say leave as is, since the reason behind 'Evolved' was to make it more difficult, and skyblock was also created with that in mind also. Maybe they should add GT in with it.....
I think that he meant the problem with accidental breakage of machines (Like you are mining wall next to them and missclick).
Exactly. I know about Electric wrench modes. Didn't think about dolly, because it's even more complicated than wrench, if you just want to store it in chest for time being. Those two do not solve accidental breaking. Main issue is - IC2 machines are damn easy to break by accident.
Truthly I enjoy it considering it makes it more of a challenge and any which way if you think or plan ahead and place them well you wont need to move them for a while. Also most of the time if you are going to be using higher tiered machines that take more materials you should be able to afford a electric wrench.
i dont think you are getting the point im trying to get across lets say jimmy is making he modpack he calls this modpack the fun pun so he sets the configs changes the recipes sets up a nice website does all the good things how do u think jimmy would feel if every company took his pack and messed around with it cause a couple people wanted it. well this would annoy most people
They main issue here is that configuration need to match between server ando client most of the time. Even if not technically required, it is better if they do. Also, the mod devs have made that a think that when broken have a chance to revert. Short answer, no. We will not be modifying configuration of the mods unless it is a bug, related to server stability or a dupe.
